Well despite having at least a passing interest in it, I managed to miss every report/news item on the Woodstock Festival this weekend. So what happened? Did it piss down again? How many of the original artists were there? Who else was there? Phil Gill.

I watched a good part of it during the weekend. It's a long trip from Denmark to Woodstock, so I trusted the local cable, and with my 29" TV screen, together with a good quality stereo sig- nal on my 2X150W hifi, I was almost there in person! And most of what I saw was very good...I did the following observations: * Joe Cocker opened the show very well * Just as he was in the beginning of his amazing version of 'Summer In The City', a bitch started babbling all over the music and they started to show something from the other stage, then got back just when he finished the song. *#@!! * There were some annoying swedish commentators throug- out the weekend, waiting for every possible moment to come up with some idiotic comments * Crosby, Stills & Nash were very, VERY GOOD! An absolute top performance!!! * Allman Brothers were also FABULOUS! What a guitar show! * A young man took a good bite of his girlfriend's naked breast during the Allman Brs. show * Spin Doctors were good, but lead guitarist could do with a better sound - and all their songs just sounded too much the same * Traffic were good - but Stevie Winwood should keep to his keyboards instead of trying to do an EC duplicate * After the show with american gospel, I can now say that I fullhearted and completely dislike this sort of music I have a lot more on tape, looking forward to go through it the next days... Local radio station was playing it yesterday. Sounded like your standard US stadium rock affair to me, with an overlay of naff peace'n'love sixties references made all the more nauseous by the strong smell of money-grubbing surrounding the whole affair. But what do I know. Rod | |||||

 * Just as he was in the beginning of his amazing version of 'Summer In The City', a bitch started babbling all over the music and they started to show something from the other stage ... Radio 1's "exclusive" coverage must have been using the same feed! Johnny Walker eventually faded out the American interruptions to explain we were listening to Americans interrupting!
