| yes, just hadn't quite got around to putting it in, what with all the
excitement of changing nodes..
Here's most of the text from the NME advert. When I get time, I'll expand this
note to include the 'lesser bands'. At the moment I've only included the first
few bands for each day/stage.

1213.3 | 5 pound reduction for PTL-holders. | RDGENG::CROOK | Gort! Klaatu barada nikto | Mon Jul 25 1994 15:08 | 7 |
| If you hold a Passport To Leisure, you can get a 5 reduction in the
ticket price. This gets you a ticket voucher, at a cost of 50, which you can
exchange for a ticket, cost 55. One ticket per PTL-holder. For details
consult your latest 'Leisure Times'. I'd guess that the vouchers are
available from the shop in the old town hall building in town.

I hope so, I intend to try and get in on Friday...you used to be able
to just wander along on the day,but not get them in advance.

1213.6 | day tix | RDGENG::CROOK | Gort! Klaatu barada nikto | Wed Aug 03 1994 13:37 | 14 |
| Ooops, thought I'd already put this information in:
I 'phoned the information line in .1, to enquire about day tickets. I spoke to
a Real Human Being, who told me that they didn't know whether they would be
selling day tickets. She said it depended upon the number of 3-day tickets
they sold. She said that they wouldn't know until a few days before the
event.
Seems like they'll only sell day tickets to fill any spare capacity from unsold
3-day tickets. This seems a real pity; unlike somewhere like Glastonbury,
Reading has a large potential captive audience nearby. I'm a bit annoyed,
really. Don't know if I really want to spring for a 3-day ticket.

bummer. The 3 day tix are expensive, and with Hole being moved up to
play Friday instead of Sunday, Friday looks like a hot day out.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
this is exactly why I and several friends stopped going, people who
weren't there for the whole weekend - perhaps only to see one band -
seemed to be the ones who trashed tents and threw bottles etc, etc
we used to stay at a friends house in Reading, but eventually stopped
going as we didn't want to be 'tarred with the same brush' ...

| But beware what happened at WOMAD. Reading residents could buy day tickets at
5 - and the place was full soon after starting time. The only people being
let in were those with 3-day tickets.

1213.10 | day tix | RDGENG::CROOK | Gort! Klaatu barada nikto | Wed Aug 24 1994 13:26 | 6 |
| Hmm, the Reading ads are now plugging day tickets at.. 25/day, which seems
pretty steep relative to the 55 (or 50) 3-day tix. Might be better to
just turn up and speak to a tout. I imagine that the 3-day tix get cheaper
as the three-day event goes on. As I recall, last year's day tickets were 17?
