| And I thought it couldn't get worse than Morrisey and the Smiths. It
has.

| About 8 months ago, there was a program on BBC2. It basically said
what type of music and it's image will be this year. They said that the
'nerd' look will be in, with the lyrics about self hate. Well surprise
surprise. Look what's creeping into the system. It's all completely
manufatured, and has no soul at all. It was dreamt up in a boardroom, so
that it makes the most amount of money by spending the least possible.
Does that put the image and the song in a different light now, because
it sure did for me ?

| This Beck character is a waste of space. After all the hype, I was
less than impressed at the atonal performance on ToTP last week.

| Beck has been around for years, and has recorded quite a bit of stuff,
I thnk he was a performance artist of some sort. He certainly wasn't
created in a boardroom somewhere. As for the atonal performance, isn't
that what its supposed to be?

| re .6,
No, I've heard from a reliable source that they're the surviving members
of The Beatles and Led Zep :)

Apparently 'In Utero' contains a number of self-damning lyrics and
general unhappiness about everything...and well Kurt went and did it
didn't he.

| Coincidentally, not, I've given 'In Utero' a listen in the past few
days and the lyrics are indeed self-damning, cynical, weary etc. I
suppose his death will now 'prove' that he meant all those things.
