It was to be March 22nd but there's now talk on alt.music.pink-floyd
of April 5th. It's a case of 'we'll see it when we see it'.

| I picked up a copy of the new album yesterday... it's fantastic! It's
a huge improvement over their last studio effort, the band appear to
be a lot less pretentios now and have concentrated more on the music.
The album has 11 tracks and is 65 minutes long; most of the songs are
written by Gilmour and Wright. Contrary to a popular rumour that was
going around recently, Waters does *not* appear on the album, the bass
playing is by Guy Pratt (no surprise there!), who sounds a lot better
than he did on previous work.
Anyway, enough waffling, just go out and get it!
Chris.

| Have to agree with -1. Great album. I think Gilmour has finally got the
new Floyd sounding like the old Floyd on this album, unlike `Momemtary
Lapse of Reason' which does not sound like a Pink Floyd album. I never
heard the rumour about Waters playing on the album, but I would have
ignored it anyway: there's no love lost between him and the other
three.

There's a track called "What do you want from me".
Kinda sounds like "Have a Cigar" during the beginning.
Love the album, effects, instrumentals. I hear Stephen Hawking
is speaking on the first single release "Keep Talking".

| The Boston Globe gave the new album a mediocre review. Folks here seem to like
it.
Myself, I think Animals is their best album, followed probably by Meddle or Wish
You Were Here, haven't heard anything by Pink Floyd since The Wall (have radio
stations played anything since then anyway?), and was never impressed by Dark
Side of the Moon.
What are my chances of liking the new album?

| Who's going on the 23rd?? Has anybody seen their ticket?? I've paid
my JIMMIE'S but haven't seen sight nor sound of my ticket. Maybe it's
a case of let's make loadsamoney on advance ticket sales . Well
enough moaning , what about the album? First listen , not too bad ,
second and third listen , abysmal! fourth , fifth & sixth etc.....
getting better all the time. Good to hear quite a bit of variance
in Gilmour's vocals with Mr Wright getting in on the act on 1
track. Is it true that"keep talking"is going to be released as a
single? Excellent song!! but I don't think the Floyd need an
appearance on Top Of The Pops to maintain their credability or
visability.
