Plenty of older stuff to listen to if you're interested.

| The video for "Human Behavior" is quite different. It seems as though
there is a "giant teddy bear" running around in the woods. I saw it
late at night, but I hadn't been drinking. The girl in the video looks
about 16-18 years old, is that "Bjork"? The CD is on my "buy" list, is
the current song typical of the rest of the disc? This "group" strikes
me like "Belly" did when they first came out with "Feed the Tree".
There must be something about young female singers that catches my
"ear." ;*)

| Being a moderate fan of the Sugarcubes, Ive got the 'Debut' CD, and am
currently giving it a lot of play at present. I would say try to hear
more of it if you can B4 purchasing it, as there are quite a few styles
of music in there. One question perhaps someone can answer for me
..does anyone know who 1st recorded 'Like someone in Love' (track
5..you know the one "sometimes the things I do astound me) it sounds
to me like a Nat King Cole track... but what do i know ??

Since writing -1 last night, ive played Debut 3 times, and its a real
grower. As I mentioned earlier there are a few musical styles on the
CD, but nothing too offensive...Im more an indie music person, and dont
particularly like pop/dance/Radio 1 playlist stuff....so its a winner
for me, and an album which I would recommend.
Look out for some limited edition versions which include a songbook,
although this may only be available from CWNN outlets.

| Yes, Debut has to be played a few times, but now I really love it. Its
not just jangly indie pop though, a lot of it you could easily swing
your pants to. I can't remember the name of the producer/co-writer,
but he also works in some famous dance group (err...not Snap, but
something like that).
I got the songbook version, the songbook isn't worth killing for, but
has some good piccies in it. I also think the cover photo is cover of
the year for me.

is not even in the top 3 songs on the CD. I find the various song mixes
very pleasant. Bjork's voice is rich and easy on the ears, not grating
in the least. I think Bjork may be a leading candidate for "New Artist

is not available in the States. :^(

| In my Debut CD there was a reply paid postcard if I wanted to receive
any further Bjork info, so I sent it away. Got a postcard back from
them saying the following :
"On Monday 23rd August the new single 'Venus as a Boy' will be released
on 7inch, MC and 2 x CD's. The single features versions of the album
track plus new workings of 'Theres more to life than this' and
'Violently Happy'. The 2nd Cd is a Mick Hucknall interpretation of
'Venus' alongside 3 previously unavailable tracks, all packaged in a
poster pack."
The new version of 'Theres more to life' does not include the recorded
live in the toilets bit. Im almost sure ill get the 2 CD pack, as
Venus is one of my favourite tracks on the Debut album, but Im not so
sure about owning anything by that little git, Hucknall. Nothing like
a bit of prejudice on a Friday morning...

| Fred,
Usually a UK release date is some 2-3 weeks earlier than its US
availability date (and vice-versa for US based bands..megastars
excepted), unless you wanna buy imports !!. I would suspect that the
release of the mixes is dependant on how many sales Bjork has made in
the US. If you are having a problem getting the mixes, or they dont
release it over there, let me know and I can get it/them for you and
send them over. Remember that UK prices for CD's is much higher than
US prices..probably UK prices are similar to imported prices in the
States. On average a CD is 13, approx $18-19. Yes we are being
ripped off, and there are investigations from consumer watchdogs about
alledged price fixing, but thats the prices at present. I usually go
to a small retailer (The Left Legged Pineapple) who is part of a chain
of independants (THe chain with No Name) where the indie labels give
preference to for any specials editions etc, and who keep prices down
eg CD's are less than 11...Ive seen some stores selling CD's for
14.99 !!

One CD has 2 mixes of Venus as a boy, a new version of More to

track..I thought I could remember all of it, but Ive gone blank again.
The other one has a Mick Hucknall mix of Venus..dream edit.. which is
very good, quite laid back, almost dreamy. One track is a black dog
remix (forget which title..useful note this, HUH?). There's also
a Bjork version of Frank Ifields 'I remember you'.
If you like Debut, its worth a look at these.

radio 1 seems to be giving Bjork a bad time eg Steve Wright, cant say I

that Bjorks mix of Icelandic/London accent is quite appealing. She (or

which is very confusing trying to keep up, as well as potentially
leading to media overload and the inevitable backlash.

| I've had "Post" for about a week now and like it as much as "Debut."
It's a wide variety of styles and might not appeal to everyone, unless
you're a Bjork fan. Play list and short description below.
1. Army Of Me industrial weakist on CD IMHO
2. Hyper-ballad starts slow and builds up a great song
3. The Modern Things another good song with good vocals
4. It's Oh So Quiet old jazz number THE BEST cut on the CD play it
loud.
5. Enjoy some say it's NIN like, hard beat tied for second best on CD
6. You've Been Flirting Again good slow song
7. Isobel the next single from this CD tied for second, a goodie
8. Possibly Maybe you've heard the legal troubles about this. it's
another good tune.
9. I Miss You heavy song strong beat
10. Cover Me a good "Bjork-ism" song she probably had fun recording
this
11. Headphones another Bjork-ism lyrics and tempo kinda wander around
All-in-all I really like this release. She tries new ideas and builds
on some Debut roots. I'd fancy her more than a hat-stand ;)
