| Haven't seen CD versions, but the first Nico / Cale LP was "The Marble
Index". It's my favorite of their collaborations, although "The End"
and "Deutschland Uber Alles" from "The End" are well worth laughing at.

| I've got an album called either "Berlin" or "Live in Berlin", something
like that. It's sort of hard to listen to ... I haven't survived the
whole way through since student days :-)
Cheers,
Graham.

The only other thing I know about her is that she died a few years ago;
after giving up drugs, etc., she moved to Greece (I think) and collpased
while out cycling.
Which just goes to show that exercise is bad for you.

NOW HOLD ON THERE! IS THAT NICE TO SAY????????? :-) :-) :-) :-) :-)
Actually, I think it was actually Spain. And I think she fell and hit
her head and hemmoraged. (Some who heard her albums say she also must
have hit it long ago.)
re:2
The End has some strange stuff on it. The music to Duechland Uber
Alles is very STRANGE and "teutonic". Back after the album came out,
Nico and Eno performed it in Berlin and Eno was making falling bomb
sounds on his synth. Guess it didn't go over to well. :-) They kinda
got pelted with stuff on stage.
I've always wondered how she got a record contract and what kind of
places she played.

There are two new biographies on her, according to January's 'Face'.
Seems to have boinked her way through most of the 60's icons, male and female.

| There's a book about Nico just come out - pictures of her doing a
dishwasher ad, among other things.
I saw her at the Trade Union Club in Sydney a few years back - the
band looked almost New-Romantic/Euro-pretty-boy, but she was like a
death's head, with a spotlight facing the audience directly behind her.
If you're really interested, there are a couple of "bootleg" recordings
of Nico (talking as well as singing) from Velvet Underground days.

Yes, I guess she was a model before she started with the Velvet
Underground. I hope the book is released in the USA.
How big was the Trade Union Club where you saw her? Did she warm up
for someone else?
