1029.0. "Newmusic!" by CIONIM::LIBRARO () Mon Jun 01 1992 12:53

Milan, 1 Jun 1992

Hi,
I'm Ross of DEC Milan.
Is there anybody knows an old sweden Group called "Newmusic"?
They produced only four record (about). I remember 2 titles:
1) From A to B
2) Anywhere
Written about from 1982 to 1986, their records have been produced in U.K.
Actually the group doesn't exit, better exit but in an other group.
In Italy I didn't find them in the best important stores.
I'm going to buy all records they wrote and i hope somebody can help me.
It is not important if version is CD, is o.k. also L.P. version.
Regards

1029.1The Band is New MusikKERNEL::COURTNEYMShine like silver,Burn like goldTue Jun 02 1992 15:4712
The band is New Musik. I have an album in my collection called
    "From A to B", produced circa 1981?

They had a few hits, including

"Living by Numbers", "World of Water" and "Dead Fish"

The music is late 70s early 80s synthesiser pop, a bit like the Buggles,
and the songs, like the Buggles, are about technology and its effects
on mankind and the environment. I never saw a follow up album.

Hi Mark,
Thank for your reply. It was very useful. First of all the correct name of
the band, New Musik. I sad Newmusic.
I'm looking for these records only for my collection. I know they are a
very old band but i like this music too. Do you think is possible to find
any reproduction in the best stores of U.K.? If you have more information
please put them in this notes. If you don't have anymore thanks for your
cooperation.

    Hello Ross,

I have two New Musik LPs in my collection, From A to B and
another, but I cannot remember the title. I believe that there was a
third album, I saw it in a record shop in London many years ago but did
not buy it. From A to B is very good, however I was a little
disappointed with the sequel! I thought that the band were British, one
member teamed up with Captain Sensible and produced a single in the
mid Eighties about submarines? This was very New Musiky!
I have recently bought a JVC micro HI Fi which only has CD
and tape, so I am recording all my LPs and selling them. If you are
interested I would be willing to do a swap for a new CD. All of my LPs
are in excellent condition. I will check out the title of the second
LP and the single which I also have.
I nearly went to see New Musik at Middlesbrough Town Hall
in either 1980 or 1981. It was exam time and I was either doing my mock
A levels or the real thing. I decided not to go and studied instead.
The gig was cancelled as too few tickets had been sold, obviously a bad
    time to hold an event!

    				Regards

    Hi Graham,

Thanks for your reply and Yes, I'm interested in your offer.
Let me know wich CD do you like in exchange and would be very
kind of you if you would able to find out the name and possibly
the code of their third LP.

                                                    Thanks again
