Did anyone catch The Jack Dee Show on Channel 4 last night?

Have any of you heard of the Guest singer Ian Shaw?
I thought he was brilliant - I was completely blown away

However, Neither I nor Our Price in Basingstoke have ever heard of him
    before - All information welcome!

I would be surprised if Our Price in Basingstoke could find the hole in
    the middle of a record.

I know some kids that still buy 'em as well as some farts.

You must be saying "huh?" to that silly base note, huh? :)

No, "huh?" refers to the constant state of bewilderment I'm in

I guess this means that no one else has heard of Ian Shaw either, then?

He did a gig ( can I use the word gig in here ) at the weekend with
  Carol Grimes.

I was at the recording of Jack Dee and he did the song twice ( technical )
reasons, and I thought he had a mighty voice. I could do without the facial
  contortions though.

Well - inspired by my own entries, I decided to go and see Ian Shaw.
I'm a bit more Carter than Coltrane, but I thoroughly enjoyed the
singing and playing. I suggest that ( if like me you're a
bit of a jazz dolt ) see this man, and who knows - the land of
goatee beards and hep cats might just be around the corner.

     Later alligators,
