I'm not sure what they have aside from various singles and their
full length release "Turtle Soup". They're from Northern Manchester,
Middleton to be specific.
I referenced an NME from last summer so the second album that they
were recording at a studio in the Costwolds (nice country setting -
I didn't think there were things like recording studions there) must
be completed by now.

I believe "Turtle Soup" was the first album and "Two Sides"
the follow up. If my memory serves me correctly, both albums
contain "And then she smiles" and the er.. other single.

BTW for more jangly pop fun Boing by Airhead is worth a listen.

976.6 | On Syd tribute CD | PSYLO::WILSON | | Wed Feb 12 1992 17:43 | 5 |
| The Mock Turtles are on a compilation CD I have of Syd Barrett's
songs. I don't recall which cut they contribute, but I do know they are
on the CD.
(Oh, probably in the Syd Barrett note I listed what track they cover.)

I got a copy of 'Turtle Soup' from a guy at work and was hooked
instantly. I thought 'Two Sides' was a case of releasing an album for
the sake of it but good nevertheless...
Also saw the band play live at Feile 91. The sound quality was
excellent. It was so good, in fact, that I was convinced they must have
been using backing tracks. Even so, they were the best act of the
day imo.
