Being an aging Hippy, I picked up a Hawkwind three-CD set yesterday,
called "Anthology". Verdict: don't touch with a bargepole. Sound
quality, nil points. Overall, no stars at all. The tracks are mostly
live offcuts and your money would be far better spent getting the
original albums - although I can't find the first three on CD anywhere.

I used to have a have a live Hawkwind album ages ago - it was a double
set. Terrible. Even if the sound quality had been improved, these guys
couldn't play their way out of a paper bag. I got rid of it ASAP.
The classic live space-rock show has to be Pink Floyd's Ummagumma,
album one. Done with a sense of atmosphere and mystery, it remains a
favorite of mine; even 20 or so years later it's still good to listen
to once in a while.
