942.1 | 100.7 for Basingstoke | KERNEL::HUDSON | that's what I think | Fri Nov 29 1991 09:31 | 8 |
| If you are living in Basingstoke, then you can pick up the Basingstoke
Radio Cracker station on 100.7
At the moment it is broadcasting tests only; it will begin real
programs on Saturday 30th at 7AM

Should be interesting as you drive towards Bagshot!

942.3 | Good Cause, Crap Radio | WARHED::GILLILAND | | Mon Dec 02 1991 14:14 | 7 |
| Anyone heard their local `Cracker' yet? I tuned into mine (Crewe) on
Saturday afternoon. Some adolescent was making a terrible job of being
a radio presenter: long embarrassing silences, wrong introductions
("this is Chris Rea by Auberge"!), etc. Teething troubles?
Phil Gill.

942.4 | | ASICS::LESLIE | Andy Leslie (1 paradigm = 20 cents) | Mon Dec 02 1991 14:33 | 7 |
| SOmething was broadcasting ath that frequency this morning when I was
driving Sandhurst->Bracknell. The presenter was, to put it charitably,
rubbish.
Ah well. The music faded before I worked out what it was.

942.5 | thanks for the feedback | JUMBLY::BURGESS | nothing | Tue Dec 03 1991 02:30 | 19 |
| ...his/her presenting was as good as your typing, then.
I guess for those of us connected with a 'cracker' project, the fact that
it has actually happened and is happening is exciting enough. The
standards were never going to be that high -- we don't take it as seriously
as your local golden oldies classic fm chart hit after chart hit after
banal gibberish chit-chat station.
And, in the main, the presenters ARE embarrassed adolescents. Remember
when you were 13?
Anyway, you've only got to put up with it until Christmas eve...
Thanks for the feedback.

| Speaking as someone who is married to a Capital FM listener, which
unfortunately includes Kid Jenson, I'd rather listen to a 13 year old
anyday.

942.7 | This prat should be executed! | NEWOA::SAXBY | Is Bart Simpson the anti-Christ? | Tue Dec 03 1991 09:26 | 6 |

Try the Radio 1 Breakfast programme Monday-Friday, then.

| Actually since this was Monday morning, it was almost certainly Radio
1.
Still rubbish presenter tho', for all that.

| I listened to Radio 1 this morning. Thought the bit about the Search
for the Maxwell Millions was quite funny. But then, I'm not an
intellectual. (lucky me)
