| The movie is very good - go see it. I did hear that the CD isn't quite
so hot tho', not all of the tracks are sung by 'Decco'.

| While seeing the movie things are quite effective with both Andrew
Stronge and Maria Doyle doing a good job . But much of the enjoyment of
the songs is contributed to by the film itself. Listening to the
sountrack without the film is not quite the same.
Its competent but a little flat. If you like the songs then check out
the original versions on compilations like "Atlantic Soul Classics".
Good flim though,

| I'd agree with Niall; I've heard some of the songs on radio but I wasn't that
impressed, went to see the film last night and they all seemed really good.
I don't think that the soundtrack will hold up on its own - a soul compilation
is probably a much better bet.

Re .3 and others.
I've not seen the film (just trailers), but it struck me as not
dissimilar (in aim, anyway) to The Blues Brothers. That, too suffered
from the songs seeming weak when taken out of context, IMO.

The comparsion was purely in terms of general style and idea, as I've
not seen this film, I couldn't compare them, but The Commitments does
look good from the trailers.
