Terry,
A bit unfair to expect us to complain now, before we've had a chance
to hear their stuff isn't it? :^)
Still, I might just pop down to Camberley and pick this little 'gem'
up.
Any clues to their influences would be nice though.

| Hi Mark,
Well, what I'll do is give you some of the names mentioned by others
when referring to their stuff:
Buzzcocks
WonderStuff
Boo Radleys
Keatons
Smiths
Morrisey-overtones
jingle-jangle indie pop
and
Carter...
this last name is cropping up more and more. It always used to be the
Buzzcocks, although I know they are NOT an influence or hero's of the
band.
Personally, I find it difficult to label them. They are Trousershock
BC. They have raw energy, rythym, melody and good lyrics. Their stage
show is confident and commited. They are serious in the right kind of
way.
However, I'll leave you with some words from a review that appeared in
a fanzine from Swanage recently:
"They subvert the 'funky drummer' business in the same way as the Boo
Radleys' 'Kaleidescope'. 'Here Without You' has bongoes in it and
that's something we definitely need more of in pop. Those two songs ('I
don't want you to go away' and 'Here without you') are... effortlessly
perfect, somehow, I sing them to myself in moments when I forget what
I'm doing..."

Crikey, a review in a Swanage fanzine! Sounds like they've peaked already!
Nah, only joking Terry. Any band that sounds like the Keatons can't be that
bad. How about lending us the record? Are they playing anywhere soon?

909.6 | The rise of Trousershock BC | JUMBLY::BURGESS | Strawberry Fields Forever | Fri Mar 20 1992 02:49 | 25 |
| Is anyone out there is interested in this? Well, so what. I will tell
you anyway that the PCL gig was a triumph!
So much so that the NME carry a live review of the bash in the current
issue -- 21st March.
They give the performance and band a thumbs-up.
All this bodes well for the future. Easter should see the bands debut
single -- (You're) all the room that i'll ever need -- hit the streets.
I have been lucky enough to hear a pre-release of the sessions on
cassette and I reckon Mark Goodier will play it at least once!
Anyway, to celebrate all this activity a special gig has been arranged
for SATURDAY 25TH APRIL at Aldershots WEST END CENTRE.
Tickets will be 3 quid. For this you get to see Trousershock BC, plus
Slug and two other bands.
See you there or be...

| Look, Tristan and I just got back from the Powerhaus..
My ears they buzz buzz buzz buzz.
The evening was entitled Lollipopalooza 2, hosted by NME and MM!!
Six bands -- all one's to watch, apparently.
Trousershock BC did OK, well very OK actually.
They finished off their 20 minute slot with their soon to be released
single cut '(You're) all the room that i'll ever need' -- it was
a stonking, phenomenal version of it. Top marks.
A band called Tanbitha Zu caught our ears and eyes....
