The Moonflowers are from Bristol, they've been together for 2 years
and surprisingly don't have a recording contract. It's probably the
	result of being big pigeons.

That is, they're not Manchester-ish, Thames-ish or sound like any
of the other bands that I know. The guitarist has probably been
influenced greatly by 60's guitar heroes but has a style all his
own, and the rest of the band are all fine musicians.

They're not a cross between anyone in particular but a mish-mash of
blues/jazz/rock/funk and probably some other styles I didn't even
recognize. They'd be the right complement for Sub Pop or Caroline.

I have a contact address for you that I'll post later.

I don't know about any tour dates and he only single I was able to
    	find was Fire.

I happen to catch them during ICA week in support of Levitation. Love
Kitten were also in support and were quite enjoyable.

RE: .0 -- Jayce> Have they released anything?

There's two 12" imports available here in the states, 1) "Warslag"
and 2) "Get Higher" b/w 2 different mixes, 'big in Bristol' and
'dubbed up' - or something like that. I generally don't care for
remix stuff but I liked these.

Both distributed on Revolver who I think are getting a lot of the
stuff from Rough Trade. They're on Pop God records but I don't know
if it's self funded project or what.

I haven't seen their other 7" single "Fire" here.

What else is available, if anything?

Also, a more up-to-date address as taken from the album is:

		Unit 5a New Square Unit
		Kings Square
		Bristol BS2 8JJ

Another one of their records is now available state side as an
import, "Hash Smits", pretty clever, eh? I assume it's a take
on "Smash Hits" or something. Also, they have a song on the
newly released Clash v/a tribute. It's only available on CD here.

Oh yea, some notes on the cover....

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The band Moonflowers (MARVIN::UK_MUSIC or BOMBE::RADIO_RADIO) had a
picture taken at the same place as the album cover for "Houses of the
Holy". I don't know their reason for recreating the cover but one
would assume they like them. Their guitarist plays with a style
similar (but not mimicking at all) to Page.

Also the recent Rolling Stone had a 100 best cover arts thing and
it goes into detail about Houses and a couple other Zep covers.
