Well, I'm going to be leaving on Friday 5th July (Friday week) and I just wanted to say goodbye to y'all. I've been with Digital since January 1989 on the YT Scheme (It sounds a bit better than YTS ;^) and due to the current job Market, there's no job for me here! So off I go into the _Real_ World. I have to say that I'll miss Digital a great deal. It's a great company even with all it's present troubles. Most of all, I'll miss my Workstation and Notes! Two things that I'll only ever get again if I come back to work for Digital. That brings me to the next point...Where am I going next? Well, for the next three months I'm doing whatever comes my way, and if nothing does, I'll do some charity work. So if anyone out there knows of some work (_anything_ at all) that they need someone to do for three months starting about now then mail me quick!!! (I'm also on (7)899 5412) Thanks to my YTS, I will shortly have a BTEC National Certificate in Computer Studies. As long as I pull another two Merits out of the bag, I'm going to Bradford University to do a Computer Science degree in October. I need one distinction and all the rest merits to secure my conditional offer (I already have the distinction and one merit so far - just waiting on the results). If DECollege come up with the goods ('s) on my sponsorship, I'll be back in a few years on an industrial placement. Well, I have a lot to be grateful to Digital (that is, the People of Digital) for. I consider this placement to be the best decision I ever made as there is no way I would be where I am today without it. That's about it. Best of luck to you all. May you get a pay rise greater than 0%!!! I hope to see/note/speak to/next unseen you again, and may your collections swell to ridiculous proportions! James Bushnell

James, I hope you don't mind me tagging on to your Goodbye note but I'll save disk space this way!! UK_MUSIC noters, I'm off to do a computer science degree too, I'm going to Brighton and I'm leaving Digital on Friday. I've really enjoyed this conference even though I've never got a "first liner" other than the weddoes (cos I'm their greatest fan) and even then I wasn't quick enough to reply. Good luck to you all, Matty, the offer of my vocal tallent is still open if you fancy starting out in Brighton. Tim, hope to see you around Brighton some time and thanks for the info. Thank you all for coming...."Oh why do you catch my eye then, turn way?"....... Russell. | |||||
