Yup, they've made it over here and have released a couple of singles
etc.. Good band, pity they're splitting up.

The albums "Nothing's Shocking" and "Ritual de lo Habitual" are both
available in the UK. I think they released at least another album
before these two but it is only available on import.

Yes, there was one other album, and if memory serves it has a couple
of covers by the Rolling Stones and Low Reed. I think it was mostly
live. It's discussed in RADIO_RADIO.
Off to see 'em with Lush (3rd time and still looking forward to them
too!) the end of the month.

Their first release which had only been available as a U.S. import
is going to (or already has been) released in the U.K. It contains
early studio work and live tracks from the Roxy in Hollywood.
Hopefully not too dated!

I'd still like to know what Jane's Addiction actually sound like. Nine
notes in and no luck.

They sound like a group of kids that got new guitars for Christmas.
Banal lyrics and 70's guitar solos.
They sound forgettable first time round but it grows on you eventually.
overrated (imho) too.

| "Being caught stealing" is an excelent song but the rest on "Ritual.." is not
as good. Too many influences for me (Beatles included).

like Frank Zappa doesn't mean I'll be paying my yankee dollars on it

825.19 | Jane was GREAT | ENTOP2::DELPHIA | Smilin' at Everyone! | Fri May 10 1991 19:22 | 7 |
| I saw Janes Addiction in Springfield Mass Civic Center last Friday
night and I and 7,000 other people thought they were nothing less than
excellent,judging by the reaction. Over-rated? - BULLSHIT! I only
wish we had more bands that could rock like that... The concert was
excellent ...Opened up with "Up the Beach",featured "Mountain Song"
and of course their current radio hit. This being better than the
hundreth arena concert I have seen,Jane ranks up there.

I was pleasantly surprised by their live show also, having disliked
anything I'd previously heard......
