| They've done 4 LP's. `Newbuild', `Quadtrastae', `90' and `Ex:El'.
`Ex-El' is only a double LP in the limited edition DJ 45rpm format.
They're 4 lads from Manchester and feature Barney from New Order and
Bjork from the Sugarcubes on this latest LP. A Guy Called Gerald
`Voodoo Ray' used to be in the group. They've had a few hits with MC
Tunes. What else do you want to know?

| 808 State are a four piece skiffle combo from Hull. Their sound
consists of washboard, one stringed bass and trouser press. Their last
hit was a cover of that old classic "My old man's a Dustman" featuring
MC Norman Wisdom.
Nah, only joking. I quite like what I've heard of them, though all
these young whippersnappers-with-keyboards so tend to make you feel
old. Hands up who's heard their cover of "Sorry Dog", originally by
that wood/chicken maniac Edward Barton?

'Allo Cardinal,
Funny, I was talking to this bloke in a pub last night about 808 state.
He's thinking of going to see them, achemm, 'live'. I didn't get any
more details about where they're appearing but I'm due to see himn this
week so I'll ask him.
Typing on Spanish keyboards really knacks me off

I can't give too much in the way of bio (the articles I have aren't
handy) but what follows is everything I know about them from a release
standpoint. If the title's all-caps it's an LP, everything else is
singles. And if you know about *anything* else, please email me and
let me know so I can add it. (That goes for CD-singles especially,
even if they track the same as the equivalent 12". I need catalog
numbers, tracks, and track times.)
Sorry about the two different formats for entries . . . things are
changing around here but I haven't converted all the old stuff yet.
