There was of course a song written a few years ago which Dave will be
able to fill youmore in about but one of the verses went -
Maggie Thatcher,
You can't match her,
She's the darling of us all,
She's the curse of the Irish nation,
Fina Gael and Fina Fail,
When she holds negiotations,
Things they always reach a hitch,

| How about
" I did it my way "
or for the possible new PM
"Hurd it on the grapevine" by Marvin Gaye or "I Hurd a rumour" by
Bananarama
or for Major
"Ello John got a new job"

| For me, the song that describes the full horror of the Thatcher reign
of terror is Elvis Costello's 'Tramp The Dirt Down'. Such bitterness,
anger, and sadness.

| There's a song on Chris Rea's 'Road to Hell' called
'Maggies Farm'
and it's all about Mrs T.
Same title as the Bob Dylan song but different music/lyrics.

I've also been using the Captain Sensible song in my p/n. I thought it
was quite appropriate.

765.11 | Cue the flanged guitar solo ... | WARNUT::KAYD | WORM-mode noter | Tue Nov 27 1990 12:43 | 17 |
| The one I thought of was the Zombies/Santana hit - "She's not there".
I thought of this one just for the title, but the first verse seems
pretty appropriate too. I may be a bit out, but I think it's something
like:-
No-one told me about her, the way she lied
No-one told me about her, how many people cried
Well it's too late to say you're sorry
How would I know, why should I care
Please don't bother trying to find her, she's not there
Not a bad fit eh ! :-)
Cheers,
Derek
