748.0. "Spot the new trend" by CHEFS::PRICET (Dead Dead Good) Tue Oct 09 1990 13:26

I think I've spotted a new trend in music.

Many bands seems to be influenced by the Polar regions at the moment.

    1. Adamski uses loads of Penguins in his Space Jungle advert and on the
       cover of his new album.
    2. Ride use loads of Penguins on the cover of their recent Fall EP
    3. The Field Mice use loads of Penguins on the cover of their new
       single.
    4. The Charlatans open side two of their new album with a song called
       Polar Bear.
    5. Ride close side one of their new album with a song called Polar Bear
(according to Vox) and recently performed it live at Reading.
    6. Ride's new album has a Polar landscape on the cover.

Strange but true, maybe this is where dance music is heading as well,
Eskimo House or Igloo for short.

Anybody else noticed any new trends.

    Tim

It seems Digital has infulenced Pop music as we know it.

    TLA (Three Letter Abbrieviations) are everywhere in today's charts;

ORB, KLF, PSB, NRG, BBG, err, I've run out already. I was never able
    to spot a trend anyway.
