The time has come to yet again give voce and critical acclaim to a superb debut album by an equally superb Irish band. An Emotional Fish have released their debut album ( out almost a month now ) simply called 'An Emotional Fish'. But I can assure you that that's were the similarity with Kylie stops. Following in the footsteps of 'The 4 of Us' tha band have outdone themselves in what will/must surely be the best debut album of the '90's. On a nationwide tour at the moment, a band not to be missed....... John_a_traffic_light_self_abuser

>>> tha band have outdone themselves in what will/must surely be the best >>> debut album of the '90's. John, what are you on? Can I have some? Well, tastes differ and all that, but "best debut album of the '90's"? Were you playing this somewhere very hot? OK, it's a (reasonably) good album. Uk readers will have probably heard the single from the album "Celebrate" (as in "Celebrate, this party's over, I'm goin' home!") which is a great song IMO (but certainly not one of the best of the 90's). The fact is I haven't played the album more than 5 or 6 times since I got it. The reason?...I bought another _debut_ album the same day which I've been playing ever since...The Stunning. (But that's another note... :-) >>> John_a_traffic_light_self_abuser Who told you about that? My guilty teenage years come back to haunt me. RE: .1 >>> I saw them at Reading Festival and I wish I had missed them. I can understand that. Try hard and you'll like them. Whether you want to bother or not is another question. However, they are significantly better on the album than live. I saw them once and ended up enjoying it _despite_ them. They do seem to have an attitude problem. The album does have several good songs though. I like "Colours". -Brian.

RE. -1 OK perhaps I was a little over enthuasiastic but I really did take to the album. Having also got The Stunning I can understand your addiction to the latter. BTW Saw the band 'Forget-me-nots' in Kilkenny. They were only excelle....anyway , you know the rest. Thanks for shooting me down also . Is there something in the water in Glenburrn Park? Ive heard about them.... seems the album is much better than their live performances. they played at the "Trip to Tipp" (a once-off 3 day concert in County Tipperary, Ireland) over the August bank holiday weekend. By reports from my friends they were loud and obnoxious on stage.

.4 from my friends they were loud and obnoxious on stage. Yup..I've heard that their frontman is a bit of a prat! He was responsible for giving the name to the band. The story goes that he had a bust-up with his girlfriend...got highly *emotional* and jumped into the river Liffey. Luckily(or unluckily) the water level was low and all he managed was to get covered in muck! - Dave K. ps...what's this DJ job you were offered is it for local radio or discos? |
