712.0. "Gypsy Kings?" by LARVAE::BRIGGS (They use computers don't they?) Wed Aug 01 1990 11:17

Having been vaguely aware of the Gypsy Kings I recorded an Albert Hall
concert of theirs the other night off Channel 4.

I was totally bowled over by their performance. I honestly didn't see
how a band of Spanish guitarists could hold my interest beyond one or
two numbers but they certainly did. Also, I reckon every thing they
    played had a standing ovation.

So, was what they played representative of their MOSAIC LP? In which
case I'll go and get it. If not, what else have they produced?

Also, whats the 'lead' guitarists name? Believe it or not I'd like to
    see him on an electric.

Any guidance on Gypsy Kings appreciated...

    Richard,
    Basingstoke.

I never did get a Gypsy King recording. They sufferered from over
exposure. Still, I reckon they're probably great live.

Well, as ever, there are 2 spellings of Gipsy/Gypsy - American and English
    (according to my Oxford dictionary).

But I'll have to check what they actually call themselves.

Don't you find them a _little_ re re re re rep rep rep at at ative?

Repetitive? Sometimes. Like when I've listened to all
twenty songs on the CD and I thought I was on the
third track.

I've never seen gypsy spelled gipsy, but I think that's how they
    spell their name.
