| They Release an album a few months back called `The Comforts of Madness'. This
is where the track `Sight of you' comes from. I beleive their first album was
called `Barging into the Prescence of God', but that may have been a single, I'm
not sure. I find them a fairly ordinary indie band, but the latest album got
good reviews when it came out, and who am I to argue against the all knowing
power that is the music press? Oh, and they're on the 4AD label.

| They are from Leeds, and have released an EP 'Barging Into The Presence
Of God' and a LP entitled 'The Comfort Of Madness', both on 4AD
(and both including 'Sight Of You').
What I think of them : 'Sight Of You' is a classic. The LP is rather
uneven, it includes real gems ('Little Hammer', 'The Language Of
Flowers') but also some average stuff. Worth the expense anyway.
I saw them live in Paris a couple of months ago; if you're interested,
see note 20.265 where I attempted a review of this concert.
Hope this helps.
Christophe.
PS : two members of the Pale Saints also play in another group called
The Edsel Auctioneer, which is highly recommendable too.

| I read that in a French music paper last month (is that a reliable
source ?) and the article was about the Edsel Auctioneer;
it said that the singer was student in Sheffield, another one had a job
(I can't recall what), and the two others were also members of the Pale
Saints; plus other more or less interesting details. (Is that enough
for identification ?)
BTW I've got a new (?) single from Auctioneer called 'Stickleback' and I'm
considering a review of the item soon.
To come back to our current topic, I wonder whether the Pale Saints
have planned new releases.
Christophe.

| Thanks for the information, everybody. I admit I'm still not convinced
it's worth spending 11.99 on the CD, especially since I already have
"Sight Of You" on a compilation CD. Maybe if I can find it cheaper...
