At long last! 'Something Happens' second album has been released and is available in all good music stores ( enough of the commercial). This is a 'must' for EVERYBODY. It's superior to the previous album and even manages to outdo 'Songs for the tempted' by the Four of Us. So , the band is 'Something Happens' and the album is called 'Stuck together with God's glue' - for the love of Gawd, BUY IT! After all, with lines like: '..There's a girl in a dress in a sinful mess, and a face just made for kissin' What kind of God gives you a rod and says you can't go fishing....' How can you afford not to! Cheers, John.

>>> What kind of God gives you a rod >>> and says you can't go fishing....' Fnarr fnarr. Question: Does it have Parachute on it? Does the CD have lottsa extra tracks (like their first one did)? Any live tracks? The CD single of Hello **5 had Boys (Summertime Love) (or whatever it's called), but it doesn't really compare to the live version. I'll rush out and buy it - this weekend. -Brian.

Brian, Yep 'Parachute' is there directly after 'Hello x 5'. I only have the cassette version so I don't know about extra trax on the CD. Fortunately/unfortunately there are no live tracks. It's well worth the buy. If you're disappointed with it I'll refund you the money ;-) BTW How's Gary getting on with the 'Danish spread' ?????? John.

The Meagher Jury has returned a verdict. The decision is: YEAH!!! ROCK'N'ROLL!!! The Happens have done it again. A great album with good unashamed melodic rock'n'roll. Good things are done in practically all the songs (there's 1 or 2 duff ones IMO). They do seem to have toned it down a good bit. There's not as much kick in many on the songs as one might hope for. "Parachute", for example, doesn't compare with the live version AT ALL. In fact, compared to the way they rip it out live the LP track sounds positively wimpy! Nonetheless, you can't keep a good song down. I've only had 4 listens to then LP at this stage & it took until the 3rd till it really began to grow on me (- Scrap it off, Jim -). I would say that you'd need to approach the album in a fairly tolerant and forgiving mood, as if you are ultra-critical you'll probably tear it to shreds; no it's nothing earth-shattering, no it does some fairly naff things at times, but you gotta remember that it's a FUN album. The words to Brand New God (in .0) look a bit "errr", until you hear the (catchy) song & get into the mood. In another song we have: "She's as happy as can be" (OK, groan :-) "She's with him, and I'm with ...<pause>...me" (I love it! Maybe I've a weird sense of humour) No extra tracks on CD :-( but a good fun/enjoyable/bouncy album. -Brian
