I've only heard Mothers Milk and Freakey Styley up to now. They are both quite
different with Freakey Styley, the earlier of the two albums, showing a lot
of very obvious Zappa influences. I must admit I much prefer Freakey to
Mothers Milk.
If/when you get hold of FS listen to the lyrics on track six (I forget it's
name). Practically all they consist of is:
"F*%$ 'em, just to see the look on their face
F*%$ 'em just to see the look on their face......."
Oooooh errr, bit naughty what........
Check out the concert review note for a brief ranting on one of their shows
during their last tour.

| Andy, Ive searched for Guitar Player to no avail. John Menzies, WHSmith
etc. so could you help me out here and photocopy it for me please?
Ian Etheridge REO2-F/K2. If you could, that'd be marvellous.
Anyway, they're at Brixton Academy June 6th for a one of gig, and with
the aid of the new Access card I have successfully secured my tickets.
Looking forward to it.
Ian.

| Tremendous gig last night at Brixton. Those boys are so energetic.
I've only got Mothers Milk and Uplift Mofo Party Plan and heres what
they played that I knew.
Higher Ground
Subway To Venus
Magic Johnson
Knock Me Down
Stone Cold Bush
Pretty Little Ditty
Funky Crime
Me And My Friends
Backwoods
Special Secret Love Song Inside
Probably others there that I've missed and also loads of stuff off
the other 2 albums.
If these boys are coming near you go and see them 'cos it was a great
display. Flea is one hell of a bass player, he didnt stop slapping that
thing all night and Anthony can sing as well as do all the prancing and
handstands etc. Also the chap on guitars doesnt hold back either. All
in all they all played with large amounts of 'gusto'.
Its great to see a band play as hard as this. Makes you feel good all
over
Ian.

| Now Available in British pressing, 'Freaky Styley' and 'The Red Hot
Chilli Peppers'.
Incidentally, if anyone has the 'Mothers Milk' LP, listen to the song
'Good Time Boys'. Towards the end, there is an excerpt where other songs
have been cut in, then the song continues. I always thought that
these were other Peppers songs, but upon buying Fishbone's 'Truth and
Soul' (an excellent album), their song 'Bonin'In The Boneyard' is one
of the spliced songs. Therefore who are the other bands featured?
Anyone know?
Ian.

Sad news.
Antony Keides (spelt?) the lead singer of the RHCP died a couple of
days ago from a Heroin overdose.

Well, that's pretty impossible, considering his picture was in the LA
Times yesterday. It was taken at the BMI awards which was held Tuesday
night.
Good advice: when you hear that XYZ of such and such band died of a
heroin overdose or locked him/herself in a refrigerator, beware!

Really can't believe this I haven't been reading these notes for quite
a while and now I wish I just hadn't today.
Wasn't Under The Bridge supposed to be about Heroin abuse and the
dangers?
Really sad news, the Chills were great and Antony was a total dude.

Strange feeling of relief/embarresment this morning,ah well its still a
better feeling than grief.
Can I take it therefore that the Chills will still be Headlining
Glastonbury on the Saturday night then?
