Did anybody watch the new music program called "ROCK STEADY" last Tuesday (20th Feb) on Channel 4. If so perhaps you can answer the following: a/ Was the program broadcast in stereo (NICAM) from a London transmitter. b/ If the answer to the previous was yes, then did anybody video the program in nicam stereo. c/ If the answer to the previous was yes, can I borrow the tape. Unfortunately my aerial got blown down in the recent wind so I could only pick up C4 on a southern transmitter, and then the pricture was not very good. Much appreciate an answer. Greg Mendelsohn.

Yes I watched it, and taped it to get the Eric Clapton Blues Concert. But I don't have a stereo recorder and anyway I'm up in Yorkshire. I don't recall seeing anthing about stereo broadcast anyway, the local paper usually mentions it if it is available. Watched the prog this week too, it looks like this could become a good regular spot. They featured a live spot by 'Wet,Wet,Wet' from the Town and Country Club as Tinita Tikarams' gig in Belfast was cancelled because the storms held up the ferry with the sound gear on it. Noteworthy section was Mark Knopfler jamming with Chet Atkins. Richard Bell | |||||

Greg, I'm pretty sure the answer to A,B, and C is YES. But, I only recorded the Clapton Blues Concert, not the whole show. I'm also fairly sure it was in nicam, I'll have to listen to it to be sure. Mail or reply if this is what you are looking for. Graham. |
