| They're good.
They're line-up changes with the weather.
I have a compilation tape made by a friend, it contains:
Mind at the end of the tether
Half cut again
Reality
M.O.V.E.
Hard left (my fave)
Get this
Man in a suitcase
What's my mission now?
The game
Forbidden dub
That's about all I know!

592.2 | I wanna be an Airborne Ranger | FSEDU::MEGAN | | Thu Feb 15 1990 22:32 | 16 |
| I heard a song by them called "Airborne Ranger" the other day, loved
it!!!!
I thought I miss heard the band name by the DJ, so I never followed
it up.
Does anyone know where they are from? Any other info would be good
to know. I wouldn't mind buying this record/cd but imports are hard
(and expensive) to get here. If anyone knows the label they record
on, please tell.
Re: .2 How would you classify the other music you've heard? Airborne
Ranger sounded like lots of danceable noise, with heaps of breaks
in the flow of the music.

| Their noise is definitely loud and danceable with an industrial/avant-noise
edge (no flames please!) Lotsa sampling etc.

592.4 | Strange name isn't it ? | ESASE::SOCONNOR | Stephen O' | Tue Feb 20 1990 18:52 | 8 |
| I saw the band on day one at Reading in August and for me they were definitely
a highlight, though I haven't seen any reviews/mentions of them since.
"danceable with an industrial/avant-noise edge (no flames please!) Lotsa
sampling etc." is a pretty good description, but the musicianship is excellent
( I thought the drummer was incredibly good )
Strange name though.....

One band with something for everyone... The first album is not really
a TACK>>HEAD record but Gary Clail, who decided to make things
easier by changing the name of his outfit from TACK>>HEAD SOOUND SYSTEM
to the On-U Sound system. (He used TACK>>HEAD out takes and mixes them up.)
There is also the Barmy Army which is just about TACK>>HEAD but not quite
(English Disease .. Great Record).
Keith LeBlanc release the first record Major Malfunction which also has
most of the TACK>>HEAD members.
The only real TACK>>HEAD record is AS FRIENDLY AS A HAND GRENADE
I've seen TACK>>HEAD once and was deaf for three days... And Gray Clail
twice not quit as loud but a great show.
There is also another guy I think its DAVE STEWART who also uses the
TACK>>HEAD band for the music.
Well worth paying the money for and make sure the volume is full.

592.6 | Dalglish, sharp as a needle. | GALVIA::PKENNEDY | Sugar Smack Head | Thu Aug 09 1990 21:17 | 11 |
| I reckon I've seen various bands from the On-U-Sound label about six times,
including Mark Stewart & the Mafia (saw Roland Gift in the audience),
African Headcharge, TackHead, Gary Clail and others.
Really, being at a TackHead cocert is the nearest I've ever come to being in
a pit surrounded by hundreds of writhing snakes. Talk about hittin' the groove!
Wow! Pretty smokey too, the strange smelling kind. BTW for anyone residing in
Galway, I have most all of the TackHead records released, if you want a loan of
any. Well, you'll be a long time waiting for Star Records of Shop Street to
stock them. Even have a little TackHead baseball cap... but my fave cap is my
KRS-1, UK Tour 89.

Well I would never have though they day would arrive that Gary Clail
would be on Top of the Pops.

Could be the beginning of the End.
