RE:.-1
I've been told that the ad is from Abbey National and that the
singer is Lionel Bart (?). I don't have the exact details as
yet. Funny..the person who gave me this information says it's
a pathetic tune and always has to change channels when it comes on.
I guess I just have weird taste....
Does anybody remember the tune/ad now and if so what do you
think of it ? DO I have weird taste ?

Re:.-2
Great..as soon as you tell the world what you think, someone comes
up and tells you you're wrong. Apparently it's not the Abbey ad..
The first few lines of the tune I'm looking for are:
'Life is but a dream,
If you could take me up to paradise up above,
If you would tell me I'm the only one that you love,
Life could be a dream sweetheart....'
Would really appreciate any help

Isn't the title something like "Shaboom" ? It's from the late 50s -
I'm trying to get through to the local oldies station to ask the
particulars. I'll keep trying for you.

| OK, what IS the Abbey National thing with the kids singing around
the old chap on the piano?
I'm convinced it could have been a Xmas Hit if released.

| It was Lionel Bart I think (the songwriter). I saw it reviewed on the
Saturday morning kids program 'Going Live'. (My kids watch it of course
I was just passing the TV at the time you understand B^) ) It got 2 out
of 40 or something like that.

The present Levis ad, which at last count features more crotches
than any self-respecting porno mag, is again playing a slightly
obscure song. Is it by any chance John Fogarty of Ceerdance Clearwater?
I presume the title of the song is "Can't get enough of your
love" aka "Leave you pants on the beach and meet charming women
who will not only steal your money but every stitch of clothes you
own".

"Can't get enough" was a hit for Bad Company back in '75/76.
The vocalist is Paul Rogers (of Free and `Alright now' fame). One
other member of Free was in the band.
I think they now go by the name of The Firm with a couple of changes
in personnel.
Trivia.

| At the time "Can't get enough" was released, Bad Company consisted
of Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke (both ex-Free), Mick Ralphs (ex-Mott
the Hoople) and Boz Burrell (ex-?). In that order, they were Vocalist,
Drummer, Lead guitar and Bass.

The song "Sh-Boom" was introduced by The Chords, but it was popu-
larized by The Crew Cuts on the Mercury label. In June of 1954
their version of it became a #1 gold hit in the states.
