These songs mean so much to me, and when I'm famous they'll be in my
all-time top ten on Radio 1.
Your Silent Face - New Order (The perfect synth orchestra
track)
My Heart So Blue - Erasure (So true when you've just been
given the elbow.)
Burning Up (US 12") - Madonna (Great to dance to - before she
went all commercial. A club classic.)
Dear Jessie - Madonna (So clever, so different, so
perfect)
In The Night - PSB's (Classic Disco)
Blue Monday - New Order (Ditto)
One Tree Hill - U2 (Makes you feel sorry for someone you
don't know, makes you widh they weren'
dead. You can feel just how shook up
`the 2' were when they lost a close
friend.)
From Under The Covers - Beautiful South (reminds me of my
best friend and my own past.)

emmotions....
1. How Soon Is Now - The Smiths
2. There is a Light - The Smiths (Greatest love song ever)
3. The Queen Is Dead - The Smiths
4. I Know It's Over - The Smiths (Bleakest and most gut wrenching)
5. Faith - The Cure (A glimmer of hope)
6. Sit Down - James (Most uplifting track of the decade)
7. Suffer Little Children (Paints a vulgar and chilling picture)
8. The Kiss - The Cure (Extreamly intense)
9. Summer Song - James (Second most uplifting track)
10.A Thousand Hours - The Cure (Scream along)

The hardest list yet. I'll put some reasons why I like them so that I don't
get jumped up & down upon. If you're not feeling tolerant do a next/unseen.
1. Dignity - Deacon Blue
An uplifting song. Being a bit of a cynic I need songs like this.
2. This is - Aslan
Song has a lot of "This is <image>", and the images are very powerful
if bleak - teenage mother & broken lover searching for the smiles
they shared, etc. Great rock too.
3. Patience - Lloyd Cole
Basically a "My baby done gone left me" song. Lloyd's voice is
perfect for the song. Whenever my baby leaves me I wouldn't sing
the blues - too much depression & not enough anger & angst (IMHO) -
I'd sing Patience.
4. The Unforgettable fire - U2
Spine-shivering!
5. The Final Cut - Pink Floyd
After listening to Pink Floyd for many years when growing up, feeling
sorry for myself 'cause my face was spotty, this song seemed to me to
be the point where I had to give up, get depressed & follow Waters,
or say f*** all that & get on with it.
6. Complicated Girl - The Bangles
Good happy simple rock song. I need a lot of those after no. 5
7. Out of the blue (into the fire) - the The
Those of you who have heard this will know that the lyrics are great.
Heartland & lots of their other songs deal with political & world
issues. This is about one person, I like that in a song.
8. The Whole of the Moon - The Waterboys
This is where I dance my legs off.
9. Birthday - The Sugarcubes
You all know it. Refreshing. Interesting.
10 Sunday bloody sunday - U2
IMO, the best anti-war song about. OK you all know it, but try to
see the Rattle & Hum version. I have *never* heard a song sung with
more feeling.
