| Don't fear the Reaper was on "Agents of Fortune" (1976) . This is
widely available and is being constantly reprinted , so you should
be able to get a copy PA .
I missed an album . Imaginos , the most recent . I probably missed
another one or two aswell

| Thanks....
I'm gonna take your list and run to my nearest record shop (Andy
Cash), and buy the lot.....
I managed to see B.O.C. in Oxford at a little dive place, they were
supported by Girls School (I think(?)-who were dreadful), but B.O.C.
were excellent. That was ages ago now, I bought Tyranny etc. before
the concert - to get some idea of the music, and I've been converted
ever since....
Have they got any dates lined up???? Sorry for not replying sooner,
I couldn't get in....
Speak to you soon...

| I don't know when BOC will be touring again - haven't seen anything
in the music press for a while . In fact the last time I saw them
was back in 1985 in Bristol , but the excellent concert was rather
spoiled for me as i split with my girlfriend on that night .
I saw them before that at the Hammersmith Odeon , where they were
brilliant . Must rank in the top ten of concerts I've seen . Others
include Marillion , Hawkwind , Blackfoot , and =gasp= Garry Glitter

who the support band were, none other than JAPAN.

I saw BC at Hammy-O earlier this year and they proved that they are
indeed still a great band. Trouble is, not many people outside
HEAVY_METAL would admit to that.

| Do people consider them a heavy metal band then ?
I've always thought of them as just a rock band , there are very
few heavy metal songs as such in their repertoire , OK there's their
cover of Born To Be Wild , which is excellent , and probably a few
hard tracks on each album . Maybe their subject matter has always
been close to heavy metal , but there is such a variety in the
treatment of the songs . For Example :
Mirrors - Almost Gary Numanish
Blue Oyster Cult , especially , is almost psychidelic
Cultosaurus Erectus - the Heaviest album , but nearer to Hawkwind
or Grateful Dead than anything
Agents of Fortune - some of this is pure "pop"
Overall , then , I would say no way are they a heavy metal group
( I hate that term anyway ) , but they are definitely a great rock
band .

I'm not much of a fan of the term "Heavy Metal", but what the hell,
it's convenient and widely used. I used to prefer the term rock, but
his seem to have broadened in popular use to include all sorts of
popular music.
Suffice to say that BC are not an archetypal HM band, but fall within
the range of music covered by the HEAVY_METAL conference (they're not
all 'eadbangers in there, you know).

| William Burroughs had the term 'Heavy Metal' in one of his books in the
sixties, I believe this is where it came from. If memory serves, the
term was first used to describe The Byrds!

This is probably the only time you're allowed to shout, but I think you should
say "ALL-IN-1". Apparently, in front of customers, this is important for all
sorts of silly trademark laws.
