Can anybody out there who gets the 'Q' magazine monthly, tell me
what Album cover #15 is in this months quiz . It has two or three
photos on it - one of what looks like a chap with 3 golf balls in
    his mouth !

    Much appreciated !

Funally enough , a few of us in the group were looking at he covers
and thought that is was surprising that there was no Stones cover
    in the quiz.

Thanks for checking, I hope you are right !

Can anybody help me with competition in July's Q magazine. I'm stuck
    on No.11, No.12, and No.13. I think No.14 is Springsteen but not
too sure. I'm pretty certain about the rest so if I can help anyone
    in exchange.....

Thank's very much - isn't no.11 Lemmy or have you seen this photo
before? Wishing you luck, can't see the one person winning all 750
quids worth, methinks there will probably be about 20 winners.

re -1 - I think you're right. There will be a lot of winners.

I couldn't get all of them, but it's the nearest I've ever got to
    completing the Q quiz.

Also, who is J in the cover versions section and what was the
    Bananarama/French and Saunders group called?

A minor digression whilst on the subject of Q.

Wasn't it nice to see that article on J J Cale in this months issue.

Well for those who know who Cale, I am sure they would have found
    it interesting.

Good to see he has a new album coming out.

He probably recorded it lying down, having become too laid back
    to do anything else.

Re: This month's Q quiz.

Which of the songs did Neil Young originally do? (hope it's not Puppy Love!!!)

And who is on the cross in the top left of the cover version pictures (Spinal
Tap doing Delilah???)

--Patrick--
522.20..But don't qoute me on that !WARDER::MOOREPBreak or be BrokenThu Oct 26 1989 16:532
I know that Sensational Alex Harvey band did a cover of Delilah
and that it was Paul Anka that did the original of Puppy Love

June's Competition has stumped me again. I know the common link, it's just I
can't identify the second person from the left. The link is presumably that they
have all worked with David Bowie, so if anyone can identify this mystery person
or name me anyone else with whom Bowie has worked besides Bing Crosby, Queen and
Mick Jagger ... I would be proper chuffed...and the office would have something
to listen to on the shifts !

I'm impressed "oh fount of all knowledge".

Now that you mention it I have the 12" of This Is No America in my collection.
It just goes to show how much dust it must be gathering.

Thanks again !

where does he get those shirts? (Just so that we can avoid the place!).

Stevie Ray Vaughn also played with Bowie, on the 'Let's Dance' album.

And didn't Brian Eno work with him, maybe on 'Heroes'.....

Another guitarist of his went on to join Phantom, Rocker, and Slick (Earl
Slick was the guitarist's name, the other two were former Stray Cats members).

And, of course, Mick Ronson played guitar for Bowie in the 70s.

Did Bowie produce Mott The Hoople? I thought he wrote "All The Young Dudes"
for them.

    Yes.. he did

Also Bowie and Iggy Pop worked on several of each others albums in 1977-78.

David Bowie did backing vocals on Lulu's hit "The Man Who Sold the
World" (which is a Bowie song)

He also worked with Georgio Moroder on the soundtrack to the film "Cat
