496.0. "Pendragon" by CASEE::LALLI (Didier - BCE Valbonne - ext. 828.5423) Thu Sep 21 1989 09:11

Just wondering if somebody heard some news about a progressive rock band called
PENDRAGON. They are a 3 men band from England. Their albums I know of and have
are:

	- Fly High Fall Far (mini LP)
	- The Jewels
	- Live 9:15  (I think but I'm not sure)

I know they opened for Marillion several times, but I didn't hear anything about
them for a long time now.
I'd also liked to know if "The Jewels" exists on CD. Anyone seen it ?

    Didier ,

    I'm fairly sure Pendragon are no more . I saw them open for Marillion
    once , at the Hammersmith Odeon in about '84 , and wasn't too impressed
    but I did hear an album of theirs , I think it may have been the
    Jewels one , and saw their music in a different light - there was
    some interesting stuff on there . But as I say , live they were
    pretty dire on the one occasion I saw them .

496.2Where are they now?SHAPES::HARRISONPThu Sep 21 1989 13:3514

    I saw Pendragon about six years ago at a pub near Guildford. I thought
    they were pretty good, but then so was the beer! Anyway, I bought
    Fly High, Fall Far, which I liked, but never got hold of any more
    of their stuff.

    I'm pretty sure they did split up, but not that long ago, maybe
    a year or so. It was mentioned in Kerrapp!, I think...

    P.S. The beer was so good I bought a T-shirt!

    Yup, the good old Royal! (Starts reminiscing about the Good Old
    Days, Dumpy playing impromptu gigs in the car park, etc., etc.,
    zzzzzzzzzz....)

    A friend of mine is a close personal friend of the band, she even had
    them at one of her parties.

    I'll try and find out what they are up to at the moment.

496.6recent news on PendragonCASEE::LALLIDidier - BCE Valbonne - DTN 828.5423Wed Jan 30 1991 17:0312
I've just heard that Pendragon got all their stuff released on CD. They listed :

- The Jewels
- Live 9:15 + 1st mini-lp
- Pow Tow (never heard of this one before - did somebody ?)

Also and that's good news, they just released a new single, new album is due
soon. They seem to be 4 members now. So they are not dead.

Any confirmation ?

    Hi,

    A rather quiet topic. I bought the album 'The World' and I really like
    it. Saw them playing as the support act at Marillion concerts (back in
    the 80's).

    Listening to the CD I have that strange experience that I find every
    song so good that I forget what the title was listening the next song.
    That makes I can only remember one title; the last one 'Hunting Deer'

    I would be very pleased to here more about these guys.

    I saw them at the Marquee back in 1990. They were ok but I wasn't
    amazingly impressed ( although I was too drunk to pay much attention )

    I do know that they're new album is out and they're touring again, they
    seem to play the Marquee every few months

    	Chris.
