    Did anyone catch Peel last night.  I got the last ten minutes, and
    it sounded like a ral stormer.  A surprise birthday party for Peel,
    with House of Love and The Fall playing live!!  Was it going out
    live, did anyone catch the start of the show?  
    
    Is there anyone out there who taped it???  I would love a copy,
    esp. The Fall.  Mail me at SHAPES::FIDDLERM pleeeeezzzzzz. 
    
    I don't think that Peel has ever put together a biog., but I wish
    he would.  So many groups from all over  the spectrum owe a lot to
    him.  Any opinions?

    Actually there's a temp working here in Leeds who had the chance
    to actually attend the party - his mate is Keith's roomate.
    
    He didn't go, he went to see Batman...
    
    He is a t the moment almost in tears of emmbaressment and shame...he
    didn't even like BATMAN.
    
    Yes the indie scene owes Uncle Peelie a lot...sometimes I get a
    bit bored of all the rap and afro music on his show these days though.
    If anyone does have a tape...I'd love a copy too pleeeesse???

    When was the show recorded?  Was it a genuine surprise?
    
    A lot of people complain about the rap/afro etc music peelie plays,
    but this can only be a good sign  He played some stonking stuff
    the other week, I can't remember if it was 808state, or Avo 8. 
    Sort of Acid house ish thang.
    
    But missing House and Fall to see Batman...That guy needs a stern
    talking to!!!  Lets have a whip round to buy  him some brain cells

    BTW  its not just the indie scene that owes.  Lets not forget back
    int the 60s/70s he was the champion of Floyd, etc.  He has just
    always been at the forefront. n Remember where you heard it first!!
