Has anyone got " The Bridge " ? It's the new Neil Young cover version
    album released this week. It includes bands like;
                     The Pixies
                     Sonic Youth
                     Loop
                     Dinosaur jr etc.

and I think It's great........what do all you Soundheads think
of it out in computerland ?

Yes, I've got it as well. I bought it because of the selection of
bands playing the songs rather than because I liked Neil Young. I'm
very impressed with it. Are they good interpretations of his songs?

I saw some good reviews of this album, I'm gonna buy when I get
back to the UK (it is out on CD?). Wasn't there another album
of covers done last year (Johnny Cash covers) with some of the same
    bands on that album too.

Other similar albums, Tom Waits, Michelle Shocked, etc. covered classic
Disney Tunes ... and the NME's Sgt Pepper Knew My Father, the Beatles
album covered by Sonic Youth, Wedding Present, Billy Bragg (Wet
Wet Wet got to No. 1 with 'A Little Help From My Friends').

    Check these out as well.

If anyone wants to know, the Johnny Cash LP was called something like:

    'Til Things Are Brighter

     - it was a charity thing for the Terence Higgins Trust. Bands included
the Mekons, Brendan Croker, Sally Timms, Michelle Shocked, Gate Bykers on
Acid, some of Voice of the Beehive, and a coupla other indie heroes whose
names escape me. It was pretty good, if a bit rootsy.

There's a Byrds tribute out now too: Dinosaur Jr, Richard Thompson, Gregson
& Collister, Robyn Hitchcock & heaps of others. I forget the title.

    Chris

PS I heard the Cash LP was out of print, but soon to be reissued - any news?
