Although I have most of his related albums, I listen to 'Dirk Wears
White Sox' more than any other.
For some reason it appeals to me more than the others.

| Oh well not much going on in UK_Music lately but I can exclusively
reveal that i've brought the Adam Ant greatest hits video and its
pretty good.
I was about five when I brought my first Adam Ant record. It was
"Kings of the Wild Frontier on 7". It cost me about 99P or rather it
cost my mum that much. That was my first ever record brought and I
still play it. I also like the B-side to it called Press Darlings (I
think).
For Christmas in 1981 or 82 my nan brought me the album "Prince
Charming". I loved it from first play. However my family were not so
keen and my mum and dad would only let me play it quietly. I loved
'Prince Charming', 'Stand and Deliver', 'Ant Rap' and 'S.E.X'. I remember
when they showed the video to 'Ant Rap' on Top of the Pops and my dad
sat their through the whole video slagging off Adam Ant. That was the
first moment when I wasn't proud to be his son.
My brothers mate Robert gave me the 'Kings of the Wild Frontier' for
the price of 3 pounds. At first I didn't think too much of the album
but I soon liked it. I don't think its as good as 'Prince Charming'
but a fine effort anyway. 'Jolly Rodger' the highlight of this album.
Other great singles included Goody Two Shoes, Friend or Foe, Desperate
but Not Serious, Puss N' Boots, Strip, Apollo 9 and Vive Le Rock.
After these songs and two more albums had been released he went quiet
for a long time. He moved to the States to take up acting. He starred
along side Edward Woodward in the 'The Equalizer' for one show and he
also starred in a couple of films.
In 1986 he released an album which i'm listening too at this moment
simply called 'Hits'. 13 tracks taken from 1980 to 1985. A great
tribute to the man.
In 1989 we had news of a new album. First, he was going to release a
song from it though called 'Room at the tops'. I brought it on 7" and
loved it. Not the same style as his earlier stuff but his voice is
amazing on this album.
The new album was called 'Manners and Physique'. It was being released
the day I was meant to be at school. I bunked of and went straight to
Our Price to buy the cassette. I queued outside for five minutes and
then finally the doors opened and I rushed in and brought the first
copy. As soon as I left the shop, I had put it in my personal stereo
and started to listene. The first track was 'Room at the top' then
followed by one called 'Rough Stuff'. Not bad so far but then 'If you
keep on'starts and suddenly I realise the King is back. The rest of the
album is brilliant apart from a song called 'U.S.S.A'.
Greatest Hits album is now out. I have also got the video and that
brings back all the memories of my dad slagging him off on Top of the
Pops. You can't keep a great thing down for too long... Long live Adam
Ant.

| I agree with everything in 402.6. Adam Ant was and still is brilliant.
I bought the video a couple of weeks ago and it's brought back alot of
memories. I think I was about 10 when Kings of the Wild Frontier came
out.
The CD has 5 extra tracks on it so I may buy it as well.
There must be alot of Adam fan's out there as it went straight into the
album chart at No 7.

| The first concert I ever attended was Adam & the Ants at Glasgow Apollo. I
think I was about nine or ten at the time.
I remember being really annoyed at my mum for not letting me put a white
stripe on my nose. I'm quite glad now that she didn't.

| My mother bought the video today - she's nearly 50 and she loved Adam Ant
at the time.
I also had to take her to see Prince, recently. He's her current
favourite.
