You are correct - there are no current dates, but .... they are
being worked on (so I believe). So, nothing to report, but watch
this space.

| Is it just my biased opinion, or after having seen Joe on "Rapido"
last night, this multi-talent is one of the most humble and
modest superstars since Jesus.

I'm surprised at the lack of notes activity for a guy of Joe Jackson's
musical stature.
Anyway, as an old(ish) JJ fan who's got his first four albums but fell
by the wayside and lost track of his career, I am thinking of buying
his latest offering - Laughter & Lust.
Are there any JJ admirers out there who could give me the run-down and
let me know how they think it compares to say, Night & Day or Body &
Soul?
Thanks,
Michael

| Hi Mike,
One at least of us. It's certainly a shame that someone so apparently genuine
as JJ hasn't had the popularity he deserves - maybe because he doesn't indulge
in trying to buy it via the press? He was hip for about his first two records,
popular for the Night and Day stuff and dumped after that - I bet his stuff
just gets panned without hearing these days.
I'm a proud owner of pretty well all of his albums, and a varied bunch they re
as well. Laughter and Lust is worth about 7/10, on his scale I'd say. It's not
as good as N&D (he'll not top that now), though it's similar in that it's a
collection of potential singles. Unlike, say, the jazz-influenced Body & Soul
or Jumpin Jive or the 'classical' Willpower (must admit that doesn't get
played much!).
If you do decide to get it, and you like it, you'll also like the previous one
(Blaze of Glory) which, for me, is just a bit better.
More opinions?
