and yes i like it i wouldn't mind buying it.

Do you know if it has entered the Top 40 yet?

| 396.2 | I need it and I wanna care | BAHTAT::STURROCK |  | Wed Apr 19 1989 15:23 | 7 |
| | It's entered the N.M.E. charts at 43 so it's probably not made the
    Gallup top 40.

Also the live dates planned for Edinburgh and Leeds have been postponed
cos they've got alot on in the studio, or so it sayes here...

| | Never is in the Top 40!!! It's at 33 in the N.M.E. chart so a jump
    of 10 places this week.
Live dates have been put back to August for Leeds...don't know about
    the others

Does anyone know if "Destroy the Heart" is available on cd single?
If so, what other tracks are on it?

Also, any word or info on a release date for the new Lp?

    Thanks.

| | Well I can tell you what I know...which I think is quite a lot...

There first single was 'Shine On' released errmmmm early 88?
Then theres a mini album available of all there really early stuff.
Next came the single 'Christine' released summer 1988

Their album followed...on Creation and called simply 'The House
Of Love' it includes tracks like....

    Christine
    Hope
    Road
    Man to Child
    Love In a Car
    Salome

    (sorry can't remember any more!!!)

Next came what has to be their greatest track....
The 'Destroy The Heart' single...made No.1 of the 1988 John Peel
    festive 50 (No mean feat!)
    Next came 'Never'
    And an album is "imminent".

They are now on Fontana and are currently Pi*sed off with the major
label because of the amount of money spent on recording and promoting.
For example they have had to fly over to America just because there
producer can't be bothered to fly to them.

The 3 dates in Leeds are now completly cancelled, because of such
stupid recording procedures and a single date at the Polytecnic
is to be arranged for November.

Sorry for the vagueness of the discography but it should give you
an idea of what to buy!

    Bruce.

| | I heard the new HoL single on Peelie's show lsat night. It's called
'I don't know why I love you', and I must say I like it a lot. It
has those cranked-up (but not too distorted) guitars that I like
to hear, and is fairly tuneful with a strong beat.

I remember seeing them on TV a while back, doing Destroy the Heart,
and remember being pretty impressed then - I think I'm going to
take the plunge and get the lp(s).

Any news of upcoming tours/gigs in the London area?

Terry Bickers has refused to pass any further comment on his recent
exit from the HOL. The Celebrated guitarist would not counter
allegations made by Chadders that he was unceremoniously booted out.

Meanwhile in a burst of frenzied activity. Bickers has been laying
(Fnarr Fnarr) down tracks at a secretLondon locationfor future releases
