370.1 | New Album? | CHEFS::SKINNERJ | Harvester of Eyes | Tue Mar 14 1989 13:23 | 12 |
| I ain't got a clue about concerts, but does anybody know anything
about the new album?
I've heard rumours that the band have been in the studio for a
couple of months and a new album will be out this year.
Hopefully they'll tour again to promote the album.
(As usual my reply is of no help to anybody :))

| Still no news yet as to the exact dates - believe me I have tried
to find out . As to the reserve booking try ringing one of the concert
travel companies - they'll probably want a deposit .
(incidentally , I have to admit to having a contact
in the Wembley booking office)

| I've heard the new Queen single quite alot down here. As I don't
understand Italian radio I thought it was a re-release from the late
70's (We Are The Champions era) not a new song (honest). Hard to
tell really isn't it ??

370.14 | How to Get the Best Tickets! | MAMTS1::TTAYLOR | | Fri May 26 1989 16:46 | 32 |
| Re: .11
Having worked for a Boston promoter for 8 years, I can tell you
why they won't give you that information. Booking offices don't
divulge tickets that haven't yet gone on sale until the band or
their management gives them permission. Once the promoter makes
the announcement via radio or whatever, then it's ok. So it's very
possible that they will be touring but for now it's only an unconfirmed
rumour.
If you have a problem getting tickets, here is my suggestion for
getting excellent seats (even for a sold-out show). Every band
is allotted a certain amount of press tix, and personal tix for
crew and their own use. On the day of the show, the band usually
gives the tour manager a list of the # of tix they need, and the
crew signs up for tickets they need. Then the remaining tickets
get released to the general public. This usually happens about
4 pm, during sound check the day of the show. The box offices never
announce it, and they usually release these tickets only at the
location where the band is playing. These tickets are ALWAYS the
best seats in the arena, as well. Usually a band is allotted around
100 to 200 tickets per show per venue, therefore, a lot of tickets
are sometimes available, and aren't even sold if no one goes to
the box office to request them.
If you call the box office at the venue prior to 4 pm, they will
probably deny there are tickets, but sometimes they do tell you
over the phone. Your best bet is to just show up at the box office
and play the waiting game for a while. I've worked shows for 8
years, and EVERY band does this, even in Europe!
Good luck! Tammi

So much time has past between note .15 and .16.
Well??
Did they ever tour?
How was it? (Brill no doubt)
The last time Queen toured the states (at least the left coast) was for
the Hot Space album. Action this day, killed!
Has the new album been released yet? Loved the Miracle! The invisable
man (CD remix) was my favorite.

Hi, Frank.
They didn't have a tour for the alubm called The mirracle,
Becasuse Freddie didn't want to do so.
So Roger organized his own band called "the Cross" and had
several gigs in Europe.
The New albume called "Innu..."(I fogat the title, sorry) will
be released on January 30th in Japan, so maybe Xmas time or
new year's time in Europe?!
And this time, it semms Freddie want to have a tour....

| Hi Etsi,
It's great to hear there is another album due soon.
I'll be watching for what ever it's called.
Did "The cross" cut an album or single?
Do you know how the gig's went?
I have two of Roger's other albums and there quite good.
"Airheads" is the cut I usually play for folks.

| Hi, Frank
The album was released , it was called "Inuend" .
I don't listen it yet, so I can't tell you what it looks like.
The Cross had a gig in London in Xmas with Brian.
Maybe someone here on this notesfile could go there and tell you.
I heard that Freddie was ill now and there is no chance to have
a tour in this year.

If you're talking about Freddie Mercury, then yes.
Freddie passed away last night at his home. He died from AIDS.

The latter is fundamentally correct even if wrong in detail, plus it gets

True, but the ghouls amongst like to have all the details, and it is in
the nature of AIDS that it just means you die of something else rather
than of itself.
The Sun and Sport get the news across snappily, but you'd not rely on
them for facts, would you?

I'm thinking to attend his funeral, it is scheduled this late Thu, but
only close friends. Perhaps they will have another funeral for fans
So I'd like to go that funeral.
Unfortunately my passport was expired, have to wait for 1 week to get
my new passport. :-( So I really hope I'll be there on time.
