359.1 | Fish and then some... | SENIOR::MORIGI | | Wed Mar 01 1989 15:18 | 17 |
| Mr. Fish,
Fishbone are from the West Coast (U.S.) and are quite well known
east and west. If I'm not mistaken, they've finished their American
tour and are now in Europe.
I've seem them twice, once in '86 and again in November '88. Both
gigs were completely wild!! At the latter gig, the lead singer did
his usual stage-diving, as well as taking a run through the crowd
to create mayhem! It's lots of fun.....and the songs are good too!
I suggest you go see them!
Give a listen to "Party at Ground Zero." - the video also is quite
good.
Cheers,
Paul

| Nothing apart from Truth And Soul is available in this country. Ive not
even seen any highly inflated price imports anywhere.
But if Im wrong then I want to know about it because I too want to hear
more of this sort of stuff.

| This is kind of irrelevent, but I saw the lead singer (forgot his
name) and another band member in the parking lot of a mall a couple
of weeks ago. Although I did recognize him (`cause I'm so hip),
I was sure it was him because his licence plate said "FSHBONE."
I thought the Century City mall was a strange place to see them.
(I actually met a few of them before--it was about 8 years ago when
they used to be a ska band that played Madame Wongs all the time.)

L.A. sounds like a star-spoter's paradise. Another l.a. noter
(in world_forum) tells us about the gods he's seen. Once it was Sinead
O'Connor feeding herself in a restaurant and another time it was David
Crosby astride his Harley Davidson.
Does this mean anything to anyone ? Okay I'll stop now.

Thats nothing, a friend of mine saw Morrissey coming out of a tattoo
shop in Brighton the other day. Why was he in there, I think we should
be told.

Even *I* saw Morrissey Tim.

It was at a That Petrol Emotion gig at Reading University in October. I
believe the old rhymer was recording nearby. I still haven't heard that
album. Sometime I might.

| It's hard to live in LA & *not* see any stars. They have to market
and eat like everyone else. And when you go to school with their
kids....
Yes, I've seen Morrissey too. (It was in 1984 in a South Kensington
tube station; I almost followed him.)

| Over here in Europe things like that happen too - my grandma told me she
saw Elvis recently ;-)
