| Aren't both Yes line ups having an argument over who actually
owns the line up? I think the Anderson Yes are touring, billing
themselves as 'an evening of Yes music', or some such

According to the March issue of Q the situation is :
Yes ( Chris Squire, Tony Kaye , presumably Trevor Rabin and Alan
White)
have one more LP to produce to finish their contract.
By this time or shortly after the name "Yes" will no longer
belong to Atlantic records and thus useable by anyone(?)
Meanwhile, Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman, Steve Howe and Bill Bruford
are using the name 'The Affirmative'.
The rumour appears to be that after Yes have released their final
contractual LP , Chris Squire will rejoin Jon Anderson & Co and
start using the name 'Yes' again.
Confusing isn't it?
I don't know how reliable the source of all this is but it'll be
interesting to see what does happen.

| There was an advertisement in the Guardian yesterday (presumably
it's also been in the music press) for concerts in October by the
Yes subset (Anderson/Howe/Bruford/Wakeman). The only date I remember
definitely is 28 October at Wembley Arena. As said in an earlier
reply, the concert is billed as "An Evening of Yes Music plus...".

It was a great gig. They played lots of old Yes stuff as well as
tunes from their new album. Only problem was I thought it a bit long.
You can spoil a good thing with too much.
Each of the musicians did heir own bit (solo isn't the right word
really) and Steve Howe had me mesmerised for the wholr show, the
guy is AMAZING.
The band were great to interview but the backstage "party" was
dead. Ended up going after about 15 minutes.
Cheers,
-Tony ( a new Yes fan )

| When did you actually go the 28th or 29th???
I went on the 29th and wasn't overly impressed with it to be honest,
although I'm not an avid fan of Yes (sorry ABWH).
The Bill Bruford solo was amazing though to say the least.
I think the rest of the audience were the same, I mean for the first
1 hr 45 mins everybody was sitting down talking amongst themselves,
I've never seen such a sedate audience. After 'Heart of ...' though
everything went wild.
The newer stuff 'Brother ...', 'Order of ...', seemed to come across
better live than a lot of the older classics.
My first but not last (I hope) Yes concert.

Haven't you got any work to do ??
The concert on the 29th wasn't sold out as the 28th was which made
quite a bit of a difference to the atmosphere in the Arena.
Steve Howe didn't seem up to his best to me.

I beg your pardon ?
Yes, I do have lots of work to do. I also have a program which mails
me new notes from my notebook.
I wish I had the same amount of work as your good self, I'd love
to have the time to analyse the entry time of notes.

| Are there any Rick Wakeman CD releases available in the UK that
aren't available in the U.S. It was mentioned (by RW) on a radio show
that his record company (Charisma?) lost its American franchise in the early
eighties.
So far, all I have been able to get my hands on are:
A&M (1973-1975)
Six Wives of Henry VII
Myths and Legends of King Arthur...
Journey to the Center of the Earth
President/Relativity (post 1987)
Zodiaque
The Family Album
Suite of Gods

ORACLE National gigs list a concert in late June by a band called YES.
Does anyone know who this consists of ?

| YES,they did get back together again. They are touring my part of the
states and I,me,myself will be attending one of there shows(in the
round). I have seen the "this is the most positively absolutely
definitely last time you will be ever able to see so-and-so" tactic
used on advertising before. I'm not worried. The only reason that I am
seeing YES,other that a mediocore liking of the band,is that my friends
(who dragged me to every 90125 Yes concert within a hundred mile
radius of my home) like them. I figure the next time they get bored
or hard up for cash we'll see 'em touring again.
(Is the music scene just starting to get to be one big oldies rock and
roll revival - or is it me???)
