| Ugh. You have just been subjected to the most wretched excuse for music
I could imagine on the planet Earth. I could not have enough disgusting
adjectives to accurately describe my feelings toward this sh*t.
The song in question is "Baby I Love Your Way/Free Bird", and it is
performed by a duo called Will to Power (or is it Will to Love? -
something like that). Over here in the States they are on the Epic/CBS
label.
IMO, the only thing more sickening than listening to this drivel, is watching
the inane video that goes along with it.
(Gee, I guess I didn't like it, huh?)

| > What exactly is this record - some kind of strange hybrid of the

Yes. It is a real Holiday Inn-type stuff - real wimpy with a monotonous
drumbeat and sort of a Rhodes-sounding piano in the background. All of
this is topped off with those real 'hush' vocals......
The girl sings "Baby I Love Your Way" while the guy comes in and
sings "Free Bird". Ronnie Van Zant is rolling in his grave at the
moment, I'm sure.
To give you an idea: If "You Light Up My Life" is a 1 on the excitement
scale, this song rates about a .5 !
Pray that you never hear it!

| I agree completely with the previous comments. Are Donny & Marie
still recording, but using pseudonyms? This song has no guts at all,
and sounds like an obvious and calculated song treatment geared toward
the MOR crowd with unobtrusive (I darenot say inoffensive!!!)
backround synth-mush. I like some MOR, but this song is a bow-wow.
A case of fabricated, dollar chasing elevator music at its worst.
There are plenty of stations playing similar 'department store backround
music' every hour of the day. I just cannot seem to figure out
why this song is currently on the playlists of pop/rock stations.
Thank goodness for tuner buttons

| Thanks to reading these references to MacDonalds and polyester uniforms,
I now have that very song (very annoyin song too) rolling around in my head
and it won't go away.
Its a very 'nice' song by someone like Leo Sayer from about 10 years ago.
Matbe if someone tells me what it is it might go away.
The chorus is
I am in love with a MacDonald's girl
She's $%^$%^^%$&$%&%&*$%^ in a polyester uniform

I was listening to the radio yesterday and suddenly the song I was searching for
was accosting my ears. It wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.
It was performed "some years ago" as the DJ described by Dean Freedman. The
lyrics go something like this
I am in love with the MacDonalds Girl ....
..... An angel in a polyester uniform
.... She has a smile so innocent and warm and I want her!
Bit lewd as the girl was only 15 ;-).

I bought the LP he released at the time of 'Boo' in '71 (Introducing

simple but effective production.

Hi Paul,
I'm not too sure about the lyrics, but we tryed to think of the name of
the band for about 2 weeks and could'nt get it,so I phoned a local
radio station and got it.
I just thought I would try it in here all the same though.

309.36 | | MENOW::PACEN | Here comes the twist | Mon Mar 29 1993 09:26 | 14 |
| You should have asked here first!
The lyrics of the Bobby Pickett version go something like:
The Coffin-Kickers are about to arrive,
With their vocal group, the Crypt-Kicker Five.
The Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band version had the "Poodle-Stabbers" about to
arrive, but I don't remember their vocal group.
In the UK, the Bonzo's version preceded Bobby Pickett's, which didn't
chart until 1973 (many years after its US release).

| Hi folks,
I'm asking this on behalf of a collegue with whom I sat together
last week in a pub in Essen (Germany), drinking a couple beers and
mumbling about the old times...The 1st question should be easy
to answer:
- who sang "Days of Pearly Spencer"?
- Then he mentioned a song "Lazy Lady" by (??) "Lester & Denwood" (sp)
who are completely unknown to me. Has anybody heard of these guys?
Is there a CD available?
Many thanks in advance for any hints.
