My Favorite Album Is "Eliminator" I feel that is the best work they
have done on an album by far.

| Any one know when/if ZZ are bringing out a new album ? Must be due
by now...
I have seen them 3 times; DONNINGTON (Eliminator Tour),
WEMBLEY ARENA (Afterburner) and HOUSTON,TEXAS (Eliminator). Donnington
and Wembley were brilliant gigs but the Houston experience was
unforgettable.

| It seems to me from the two replies so far that you are both 'Recent'
ZeeZee fans ... I'd be interested to know if you *really* think the
last two albums are the best, or if you've only come to hear of them
through these albums.
For me the older, more blues'y stuff is by far the best, but then
each to his/her own I suppose!

| In my (humble) opinion, I think that ZZ went really down hill after
Eliminator. Afterburner is just a rock album with a 'funky disco'
beat behind it. It seems to me that after the success of Eliminator,
ZZ produced a commercial album to make some more money.
For REAL ZZ Top, listen to:
Tres Hombres
Tuijas (sp?)
Dueglo (sp?)
The old ZZ Top (pre Eliminator) are DEFINATELY the best.

True, I first heard of ZZTop when Eliminator arrived on the scene but
since then I have bought all of the other albums mentioned in previous
replies. Although there are some great songs on those albums (Tush,
Hell Raisers and Beer Drinkers...) my personal favourites are on Eliminator
(Got me under pressure, sharp dressed man). I agree that Afterburner
was probably made in a hurry to cash in on the success of Eliminator
but, there are still some great songs on it (Rough Boy, I got the message).

I agree.. that they went downhill after Eliminator.. I love all
their old albums, and have gone through a couple of copies of
Deguillo... I was wonderig if anyone knows where they get their
album names and what they mean...

The first song that turned me on to ZZ was Cheap Sunglasses. And
it is still my favorite after all these years!!!

| Where did they get their album names from?. Well their earlier
album titles are all Spanish words or the Tex-Mex version of
spanish!!! Not sure what tejas and Deguello means...could be
places or a type of food? However I do know that Tres Hombres
means Three Men.

what they said in a movie I saw about the Alamo.

Well, after all these years, I'm going to revive this note. (With the
help of some others, hopefully :-) )
I saw ZZ TOP in concert last year in Manheim, Germany. They seemed only
interested in taking the moeny and running. It was open air and they
were the headliners and they played for 1 1/4 hours! What a rip off.
The tickets were not cheap and Little Angels were the best in the bill.
I really like thier earlier stuff and RIO GRANDE MUD is my fav with
TRES HOMBRES a close second. However, the concert really disappointed
and on the strenght of that, I did not venture out to buy RECYCLER.
Any opinions on that album?
Cheers,
Mark.
