Heavy_Metal) but I've been so busy listening to it, I didn't get
a chance.
Incredible!
I'll expand on that later....

| > Incredible!
I'll second that.... !
1st CD - most of the Momentary... Album (but starting with Shine-on
at the beginning) The audience noise has been well handled to produce
a very 'real' effect. 'Dogs of War' has some amazing sound effects
at the start - definately not on the studio version...!
As the whole thing was recorded at the Wembley gig, it stirs some
very vivid visual memories for me - I think that will be true for
all of those that were there. I can remember how the ground shook
to the sound of the bass notes - and how the lasers caught the smoke
in the air (as well as the Jumbo that flew over just on queue !)
2nd CD - all of their old stuff - the 10min version of 'Money' is
just superb. Midway thru, the band went thru individual solos -
drums, bass, keyboards - will the backing singers punching out
a 'reggae' style "oooooohhhhhhhh" !!!! This track alone makes it
all worth while.
'Comfortably Numb' - penultimate track is excellent, but the finale
'Run Like Hell' to what must be the best laser show ever, finishes
it off nicely.
The sound balance, depth and 'openess' are very good considering
that it is a live album - but what else would you expect from Floyd.
....let's face it - the Album's OK !!!!!!!!

re .4
Yes, for this album it is necessary. 100+ minutes of music. Pink
Floyd isn't know for holding anything back. When they do it, they
do it right!
As for the money, Releasing a double Disc set is the last thing
the record company wants to do. (It's also double album and double
tape) Doing what they did really brings sales down. ($22+ for the
disc) The Record Company probably urged them to cut out a few songs
and to bring it down to 74min (the Normal Max for CD time)
Some Independent CD companies have developed a process by which
they can fit 80min on a CD, but it's about a buck more expensive
to manufacture, resulting in $4 - $5 more for consumers.
The Total time of "THE WALL" is about 78 or so minutes, thus requireing
more than one disc (Major Companies don't like to use the new process
because not ALL disc players will play the disc)
Well there you have it.

Did any of you pick up the new Double Live Album/Tape/CD called
"Delicate Sound of Thunder"?
I did, and I'm I glad! This album is EVERYTHING that I could ever
ask for in a Live Floyd album. Incredible sound (DDD), great sound
effects. The Band was super! Total time of over 100 minutes!
Let's see, I could have listend to it about 57 times this weekend.
Yup, pretty close! I had my CD player (sony Carousel) set to replay
the 2 discs over and over again for about 2 days. I listend to
it in my sleep.
The First disc starts out with a 10+ minute version of Shine on
you crazy Diamond, and then has 6 songs from "A Momentary Lapse
of Reason" including "learning to Fly", "The Dogs of War", "on the
Turning Away", "Sorrow" and more
The Second Disc starts out with "One of these Days." I could almost
see the PIG floating over my bedroom.
ONE OF THESE DAYS, I'M GOING TO CUT YOU INTO LITTLE PIECES!
There are 7 more songs on this disc including: Wish you Were here,
Money, Time, Us and Them(disc and tape only), Another brick in the
Wall pt. II, and closing with Comfortably Numb and Run Like Hell.
The album really captures the pink floyd live experience very well,
but nothing will ever match actually being there.
Also included is a very thick booklet with pictures of the stage
and various other things.
Great Album!

| Sounds like it's ideal for anyone who went to the gig, and wants
to re-live it. 2 CDs though, does work out a bit expensive.
