Has anyone heard a group called 'House Of Love' ? I heard
one of their singles (Destroy the Heart ) on Peelie last night,and
I was well impressed.
Can anyone tell me what their album is like,is it as good
as the single ?

The House of Love are a relatively new Indie band, recently shot
to stardom by the ravings of John `Baldie' Peel. The Indie band
of the eighties (where have I heard that one before). But they're
not that bad, and yes, the single is pretty good. They have a debut
album out under the same name which is meant to be, well, alright.
The House of Love are playing at the Carribean Club in Reading on
Saturday 6th August. (I think it's the 6th but I may be wrong.)

Ooops, I lied. The Carribean club is in Basingstoke, Priestly Road.
I got the date right though. They are also playing at an all day
bash at the Town & Country Club on the following Sunday. There
are lots of (fairly) good indie bands playing on this, including
the Jazz Butcher and My Bloody Valentine. The House of Love play
at around 9:00pm. Full details in this weeks Melody Maker.

They are actually playing in Reading at the After Dark club this
saturday.
The band also have a session on Peelie tonight (3/8/88).
