    I have loads_a_sheet_music including Beatles,Stones,Shadows,Clapton
etc, etc, etc plus lots and lots of folk music. I've also found my
local library to be a very good source with some quite good collections
    in stock including Police,The Doors,Cat Stevens Complete,Stevie
Wonder. Why not try yours. I would be interested in the Dire Straits
stuff or any 60's,70's material that I could put into my bands set.

All the stuff you asked for are in the library, I would need to
go and borrow them again and then let you pick the tunes you want.
If there are any particular ones you're interested in I'll try and
get them for you. If you're in Reading I'm in DECpark next Wednesday
for a couple of meetings and will be free over lunch. D'ya wanna

O.K I'll give you the opening bits tommorow (after I've played them
again), but I can tell you that the chord progression for the verse
    is:-

B, A, G, F# (sure you know the rhythem, these are all sus
    		          chords starting at pos 7)

BB A D E (thats the power chord bit, B is at pos 2 this
    		          time)

I'll get this sorted out properly when I've had a bash on the guitar
    tonight.

                         9th Main Shape

Ok here are the chords for the first part of Pinball Wizard plus the shape
of the main chord used in the song.

Chord shapes one thru nine are the distinctive opening bit (acoustic on the
record I think), If you listen again to the record all will become clear.

Then its straight into it with 'main shape' at position 7 (H stands for hammer)
this position moves down the fret board to pos 5 then 3 then 2, ie B, A, G, F#.

The next bit is where you jump up and down and pull funny faces the chords
being B, B, A, D, E - make that E last.

I think this is how is played it - I'll confirm it when I have a

    A jam - brilliant idea !!

Where would it be ? I suppose it'll have to be somewhere in the deep
South (Reading/Blazingstoke area), as that's probably handiest for
most people. What about a venue (DECpark canteen - that would be the
biggest venue I've ever played :-)

Has anyone got/got access to a PA, or would we hire one (I'd be happy
to chip in to share the cost).

If we decide to go ahead I can provide the following :-

One electric guitar (Westone Prestige 250 with DiMarzio Dual Sounds)
One guitar amp (Vox Venue 100 watt)
One synthesiser (Yamaha DX-7 with Roland MT-32)
Possibly one drum machine from a friend (Yamaha RX-11)
    One reasonable microphone (Yamaha)
    No microphone stand :-(

Are we going to go for this ??

    Cheers,

    Derek

    Brilliant!

The Americans have jams - why can't we ?

We should decide on a set list - so we can get on with learning
    new tunes etc..

PA - well, I would think we need to hire one, unless there are any
bands out there who can lend us some stuff.

The canteen sounds okay, but wouldn't an outdoor venue be better??

Couldn't you get over here for it ? I'm sure that lots of people
could put you up for a few days.
