| Heard that Kate Bush's "Babushka", the bit that sounds like broken
glass was inspired {or sampled} from a tea-lady coming into the
studio un-announced complete with trolley.

| Can,t remember the song now but I think it was Wet Wet Wet or someone who
burped near the start of the song. It was featured on Mike Smith Radio
One show a few weeks ago.
Can anyone remember the song??

| When Van Halen recorded "Women and Children First" it was raining
and the sound showed up on the intro to one of the songs (on the
second side I think). They liked it so much that they left it in.
I dont think I noticed until I read about it. Shows how effective
it was doesnt it :^)

I was talking with a friend last night about this ,and he had
a couple of examples of when he was recording .
One of the Bass speakers was rasping ,the end result was a great
bass sound .
The guitarist had put down a track slightly out of tune ,but when
played back and laid over a good one the sound was superb .

I remember reading an article about this not too long ago,
can't remember a lot, but some were -
On a Bob Dylan song, what appears to be an innovative
percussion riff, turns out to be the buttons on the sleeve
of his jacket banging against his guitar.
On a Beatles song, at the end of a rather long fade-out,
John Lennon is clearly heard saying "****'s sake, not again!"
I'll try and remember more, or where I read it.

Listen to Bauhaus' wonderful cover of Ziggy Stardust, at the end of the
song, during the fade out, there's a shout of "That's the one". It was
the original session version which was released as the single.

On the Smiths 'I Started Something..' at the end of the song the
Mozzer says something like "That's it - Do it again?" during the
fade-out - clearly studio chatter.

On the cd actually - right during the fade out - guess I need a
pair of STAX to hear it correctly.

Actually, Mozzer says "Hey Stephen [referring to Stephen Street,
the producer], can we do that again?" It's pretty clear when
you're listening to the CD with a good pair of headphones.
