I thought Daevid Allen was good but didn't think much of
his backing 'musicians'. When you consider the bands he
used to front - which included people like Robert Wyatt and
Steve Hillage then this was quite a disappointment.
The audience made up for this though - it was more like a huge
party than a concert. I didn't realise there were so many
hippies still around.

| Hi Steve,
Are you going to the next Daevid Allen gig then?
I hear he is playing a large gig in London (don't know exact venue)....he's
playing along with Here & Now and Osricks Tenticles...I'm definately
going...well I should be although I have and operation on my mouth that day,
so it looks like I won't be smoking or drinking for quite sometime....HOW
will i survive?
If I'm not in too much of a bad way, what does anyone say about getting
together before..durring..after the gig(s) for drinkies? "Mines a Water,
please!"
Cheers & Bye
\Andy
PS. Steve you got any of Steve Hilliages solo stuff on tape you could lend to
me, or anything that is good....i like Hawkind,Gong,...etc. etc. If you can,
drop us a mail. Thanks in advance.

If I heard right Daevid Allen said he was playing the Electric
Ballroom, London with Here & Now on 2nd June. Ive seen Here & Now
many times and they're well worth seeing.
> you got any of Steve Hillages solo stuff on tape
Well as this man is my guitar hero I've got just
about everything he's ever put out!
BTW does anyone know what he's doing these days?
I know he got involved in Producing a few years ago
but I've heard that he's now playing again - in Germany.

o double ten-inch gatefold
o hand-painted sleeve
o included extra with their debut LP - I guess this one could
be any number of bands so ...what's the significance of the
band name "Catherine Wheel" and the pub by the same name in
Kensington (if I recall)?
The others are fairly recent/relevant so...

77.10 | US / UK Record Swap - this note was aptly titled for my 'question! | OLTRIX::ZAPPIA | punk rock polly | Tue Mar 10 1992 22:26 | 23 |
|
The reasoning behind my original reply are beyong words or worth
getting into now but if there's anyone that is interested in
arranging a swap of any of the following records please let me know
because my usual means of finding them in the states came up short
so far and I would really like to get these:
Lush's double ten-inch gatefold release of "Spooky"
The Falls recent 7", hand painted sleeve.
Catherine Wheel's debut LP along with the limited 7".
An interst in a bunch of other things but these come to mind and
since they're not as easily obtainable via usual import means.
side-note; at some point I'd like to discuss some of the off-line
conversation a few of us have had regarding my non-understanding
of the cases where by an import record in the states can cost as much
as a domestic release in the UK as I have experienced.
Thanks,
- Jim
