Is that 24 squid for the 3 days plus camping or per day ?? Last time
I was at the festival we got a one day ticket so we could come and see
Lizzy's last gig - will they do those too and where can you get them -
I presume HMV/Virgin will be selling some.

24.00 is almost certainly for 3 days - it's usuallu about 8.00 for
Friday and 10.00 for the other two days. Line-up is interesting
this year - quite a good mix.

66.12 | Dates/Prices/etc.... | RDGCSS::STONE | Distant, Alone, Beneath the platinum stars ... | Thu Jun 30 1988 18:26 | 17 |
| The Dates are :-
Friday August 26th ----> Sunday August 28th
Kick off on Friday is usually late enough for those
of us that want to, to get Paraletic in the pub first,
ie about 3pm.
The 24 squids do include camping but I haven't yet
seen any prices for individual days.
For anyone who's interested (and those who arent) myself
and several friends will be situated beneath one or
more Blues Brothers flags for the whole of the three
days so why not come and say hello!

Re .8
Rankin' Roger is formerly of General Public fame
formerly of The Beat fame
What can anyone tell me about Fields of the Nephilim?
|
66.14 | The Fields of Nephillim | RDGCSS::STONE | Distant, Alone, Beneath the platinum stars ... | Mon Jul 04 1988 14:48 | 16 |
| re 'The fields etc...'
Well, They all wear black - last year those of us wearing Denim
on the Friday night were actually in the minority !!
There music is sort of 'Sisters of Mercy'/'Mission'/'Jesus and
Mary Chain' ish although if there are any 'Neph fans out there I'm
sure they will disagree (I've only heard the one album and the set
they played last year - so I wouldn't claim to be an authority on
them).
Incidentally, They were recently held by police while on tour after
a bag of white powder was found in their Hotel room after they had
vacated it - it turned out to be a bag of flour used as stage make-up
to increase the whiteness of their skin - strange people ??

66.15 | Live at Reading - official releases... | SOURCE::ZAPPIA | punk rock polly | Thu Feb 20 1992 16:28 | 10 |
|
Maybe this makes more sense here than in the current '92 festival
note, #972.
Since Hawkwind are releasing "Live at Reading 1986" it prompted me
to ask if any other past shows have been officially released by any
bands who have played there? I'd also be interested to hear via mail
about any that exist in the sleazy bootleg circles too.

66.16 | Diamond Head | MADBAS::DREES | the black & white machine | Fri Feb 21 1992 11:56 | 6 |

There is a Diamond Head 8 track cd just been released. This includes
live tracks from the Reading Festival (not sure which year) plus
tracks recorded for a radio 1 session.

66.17 | Remember The Tygres of Pan Tang? :^) | ARRODS::OHAGANB | Life begins at the Hop | Fri Feb 21 1992 12:33 | 8 |
| That would have been 1982, back in dem good old days(?) of dodgy HM
bands, atrocious organisation, can and bottle fights galore. I do
recall being "dahn the frunt" for Diamond Head's set on the night and
good it was too. They were brought in at the last minute because
Manowar could'nt make it, British customs no doubt ordered their
bearskin loin cloths into quarantine. Oh memories.

ridiculous though it seems.

66.20 | | UBOHUB::FIDDLER_M | Reality used to be a friend of mine | Fri Feb 21 1992 13:25 | 5 |
| Whats so ridiculous about Walsall? I used to believe that a HM group
were crap unless they had some West Midlands connection (none of your
airbrushed American FM noise for me!).

Yup, the merest mention of REO Speedwagon, Journey, Styx, or Kansas
starts the teeth gnashing. Spin, Spin, Spin the Wheel of Justice!
