| Anybody out their who is going to the Bob Dylan concert on 2nd of
July, should go as early as possible an catch 'The Alarm' .
They are one of the best groups currently still active over in the
UK and have a fantastic acoustic/electric sound ... otherwise something
to get a bit of sweat and rocking out of.
I've now seen them 3 times and they are definately the best live
band I have seen for many years.
Miss it , and pay the consequences !!!!!

Thank you, PBA::RUKAS, for the info. Having gone away for the
week-end and being in a general fog lately, I would have missed
these concerts if it hadn't been for you! Now, I've phoned for
Beach Boys (always a good time) and John Cougar Mellancamp tickets.
On Wednesday, I'll phone again for Dan Fogelburg & UB40.
While I've never been to Great Woods, it should be nice - outside
on a summer's eve...can't wait!

61.3 | Be prepared to wait | ANGORA::JLUDGATE | Cinderella Married For Money | Mon May 09 1988 19:04 | 29 |
| A word of warning:
Bring a cooler loaded down with food and drink. Maybe even a portable
stove or hibachi to cook on. And some lawn chairs. And a good
radio/tape deck, with plenty of batteries. Maybe even a frisbee/
hackey-sack/nerf football(american)/football(rest of world)/something
to keep you distracted.
This isn't for the concert, but for afterwards. Of the shows that
I've been to at Great Woods, I was stuck in a traffic jam while
exiting for one, the people I was with left early (beat the rush)
for a second, and we hung out for a long time for a third. Personally,
I preferred hanging out, having some food, unwinding, and then driving
straight out as opposed to missing the last few minutes of the show
or spending over 45 minutes driving out.
And another thing:
You can bring a blanket in if your tickets are for the "lawn" section.
This is usefull before the show, but I find that once the band comes
on most people stand up, so you have no choice if you wish to see
the group playing. (actually you can bring a blanket in if you
have seats as well, but there is no real need for one, i just didn't
want you to think that the management was discriminating against
certain ticket-holders)
