| He orders dry white toast?
Anyway, Prince among films , my particular favourite song being
Rawhide.
When I was at Portsmouth Poly a band played there called
"Otto Prang and His Blues Company" or something like that and they
had two guys dressed as Jake and Elwood and they ran through all
the songs from the film plus Wooly Bully etc.
They were marvellous and had all the sax's and trombones and all
of that brass side of things. Marvellous stuff. The geezers playing
Jake and Elwood did all of the film stage dancing. You know the
stuff when they're at the final gig.
Highly entertaining.

| A must for all Belushi and Blues Brothers fans is the book
WIRED by Bob Woodward.
Its the biography of John Belushi from the early days of
stage-acting in Chicago to his *tragic*death in Hollywood.
Bob Woodward goes into great detail and
research(as only he can do) and treats the subject with the
respect and dignity he deserved. Its the story of what *it*
was and what it could have been, the Hollywood jet-set,the
drugs,the girls,the movies,SNL,the music.Its sad,its funny,
its tragic,its compelling.....I could go on,but....
Just go and read the book, gaurnteed you won't regret it....
As John used to say ' I suggest you go out and buy as many
blues albums as you can'

CD (Ive got it on vinyl). This is "Made In America".
Like "Briefcase Full Of Blues" it is a 'live' recording.
However, it isn't as good as the other 2 albums, and
I was a bit dissapointed when I fist got it. It's growing
on me though...

Rich,
I got the book over here in Galway about two years ago.So
you should have no problems getting it in one of the larger
book/dept stores in London(or wherever).I got the hardback edition
and the book itself is quite large.I don't think it would fit inter
-dept'l mail !!!.However if you do have problems finding one let
me know and I'll forward you info on publisher,ISBN number etc.
Best of Luck,

There seem to be some good "copy" bands around......
My brother plays lead guitar with a ten-piece called "The Fabulous
Rhythm and Blues Review" - they're getting a good name on the
Universities circuit at the moment. They do most of the film and
album stuff plus some other period pieces - apart from the fact
I'm biased (!) their gigs are a guaranteed good time with no-one
left standing round the edges.......
Also, I've heard that a film's being made about Belushi. Any more
info on this?

| Just read the conference on the GREATEST film ever made. Good to
see so many other folk out there appreciate the film. I agree with
those who recommend "WIRED" as essential reading - it is however
no longer in print so scour those bookshops and buy at any price.
One small issue though, there seems to be little appreciation of
Dan's contribution to the film ie he did a lot of the writing.
John's genius is undisputed but lets not forget the other half.
Dan knew how to bring the best out in John, and the spark they
had together was not matched in any of John's other film's.

| Whilst in Milan a few weeks ago there were a lot of posters advertising
the Blues Brothers Live at some local venue. It turns out that the
group were staying at the same Hotel as me, I landed up having a
beer or two with them. The group is American and consists of two
new frontmen but the backing band is made up of most of the original
people. They plan to tour the UK late May. They might be worth checking
out.
