Yup, I've got Rose of Cimarron, it is indeed great stuff. What's
the name of the guy who was their singer Ritchie Furey??, the
band weren't so good without him.

to CSN & Y ???.

| I think the remnants of Buffalo Springfield became Poco after Stills and Neil
Young left.

| Yes! I've got it and I think it's very good too! In fact, we were
looking for an unusual name for our dog and when looking through
our record collection came up with his name............Poco!
If you like Poco, I think you'd also like the Outlaws.
Yes?

| If .-1 refers to my offer of playing POCO - it's always open! As
with most music enthusiasts, I jump at the chance to play my faves
to others..! Appointments by mail; bring beer...

35.7 | Buffalo Springfield | 45466::JANSEN_J | | Fri Jan 13 1989 12:35 | 13 |
| Jeff Jansen from SBP
Ritchie Furey founded the band with Jim Messina who were both members
of Buffalo Springfield along with Stephen Stills and Neil Young.
I would be interested in knowing which albums by Poco are still
available as RF was a good lyricist and singer.
Worth checking out is the "Buffalo Springfield Again" Album which
I believe is still available
Regards

I used to have a copy of the Buffalo Springfield album (with that
excellent opening track "For what it's worth") and Poco's Head over
heels album but I've lost them both!
Something to do with moving house/flat 6 times in 2 years when I
was younger I expect.

| Also worth checking are the albums by a band called Manassas(sp)
which also featured Stephen Stills and a guy called Joe Lala on
percussion.

35.10 | more trivial info | LEROUF::MERRICK | If it's understood, it's not finished | Fri Jan 13 1989 14:04 | 9 |
| Manassas featured ex-Burrito Bros AL Perkins and Chris Hillman. The
story goes that Stephen Stills asked Perkins and Harris to record an
album withhim along with sessionplayes Joe Lala and Paul Harris. So
successful were the sessions that they formed the grpoup Manassas.
Dallas Taylor was the original drummer, and Calvin "Fuzzy" Samuels the
bassist (later to be replaced by Kenny Passarelli). Perkins, Hillman
and Harris later formed the Souther Hillman Furay Band.

| I think all Poco albums are still available. I recently saw "Head
Over Heels" on CD - very tempting! Perhaps next time.

| I've got "You Better Think Twice" on a CBS sampler album ("Rockbuster)
that cost me 50p back in 1972........I've since seen the same album
in a rare record store for 50 pounds!
Phil
(Good track, by the way)
